The best things about In-N-Out is that they are family owned and train their employees extremely well. They are also very consistent, so no matter which location you go to, it will be the same. You also know In-N-Out is doing something right when you go to one at 11pm and the drive thru is over 20 cars deep and dining room is packed.

I grew up in Baldwin Park, CA the home of the first In-N-Out. It was then and still is a family owned restaurant i.e., no franchisees. Quality and price control is their main reasons for continued success. They have grown into a chain of restaurants concentrated in the western US. The secrete menu is only a secrete to In-N-Out newbies and "animal style" is named for the dill pickle dressing that drips all over you, making you look like an animal as you eat it.

We always order animal style with extra fried mustard. We don't like their fries though unless you also get them animal style or with other toppings. They make them fresh onsite but I can't get over perceiving them as stale due to their different texture vs. other fast food chains. It was our first stop on the way to Los Angeles, usually headed to the beach or Disneyland. I was thrilled when they came it to Las Vegas! My only complaint is that they don't offer Diet Dr Pepper. Speaking of doughnuts, if you ever make it to Las Vegas, you must try the most indulgent doughnuts I've ever had... Pink Box Doughnuts. It's a Las Vegas-based chain that is growing quickly. It has a very large selection (my favorite is the Pinky) and the new shops are bright and colorful. The new one near me has huge sprinkles on the outside of the building that light up. Dunkin' is ordinary in comparison.

There are regions that prefer other chains and whatnot. As some that's lived all over the US, In-N-Out is my favorite fast food burger chain. There are others that are great, too (Whataburger, Culvers, etc...). My personal tip: order the fries "light well done". Regular fries get soggy pretty quickly (because they do a really fresh fry and they don't double fry). If you get them light well done or well done, they'll be crispier. Well done is a little TOO crunchy for me, but you might like it that way. Also, I can be a cheese snob. But for burgers and grilled cheese, american cheese is still my favorite to use.

“American” cheese isn’t just a crappy fake cheddar, American cheese is an actual type of cheese and it isn’t orange. It’s a mild white cheese (you can ask for it if you get a sub at Subway). Fast food processed cheddar is probably mostly used because it melts easily and looks nice when it does, actual melted cheddar can congeal a bit and be really greasy. And I lol’ed when he said “gherkins” on a Big Mac, they don’t put gherkins on burgers, those are the sweeter small pickles you eat whole. It’s dill pickle slices on burgers. Or butter pickle slices, at home or maybe some nicer restaurants.
@jishani1

you can make american style cheese yourself with whichever cheddar you want as a starting point. it was originally made to melt easier and be less greasy. that's the whole point. and nothing compares to it on a burger. if you want to see a video of someone making american cheese from scratch (at home) check out the chud's bbq video on the juicy lucy. he makes american cheese in that video.

The current owner is the granddaughter of the founder. She is dedicated to maintaining the quality of the food at all costs. It's why she won't expand past the western States. The company maintains direct control over the distribution of the food sent to each location. Everything is locally sourced, the meat never frozen, the lettuce hand leafed, the tomatoes and onions sliced in-store, and the fries hand cut in the store. She has stated that she will not expand unless she can guarantee the company's customers that food quality and customer service will not suffer. They are also known for taking good care of their employees. They were ranked #28 among America's Best Employers 2019 by Forbes and according to a survey by Glassdoor in 2014, they ranked #8 on its annual list of the 50 best places to work in the U.S. and the U.K.. Don't get your hopes up, though. There are no locations in the U.K., but they were stacked up against the businesses in both countries. As far as the food goes, it's so good you should be punished for eating it. Take a bite, bang your head on the steering wheel or kitchen table. That is if you can resist tearing into the bag before you get home. They go so far as to ask if you'll be eating your meal in the car. If yes, they will put your food into a small tray so you don't have to tear into a bag. If no, they will bag it up nicely so it stays warm on the trip home. The three flavor milkshake is actually called a Neopolitan. I moved away from Southern California for about 7 years before returning 5 years ago. One of the friends I kept in contact with would always make it a point to inform me that he had either just gone to In-N-Out or that he was going to go right after we hung up. On occasion, he was actually EATING his burger and fries while we were talking. My response was always the same: "F*** you!". He lived within walking distance of one.

Californian checking in! IMO the 2 key to enjoying/understanding In n Out are 1) the Secret Menu and 2) It’s not that necessarily that the burger is the undisputed #1 burger ever (delicious though it is) it’s also the overall experience. Gotta get Animal Style fries. The standard ones might seem plain to some but it’s because they just use fresh potatoes and fry them, without preservatives or trans fats. Try a shake. Look up the secret menu online. Just to be clear, it’s an open secret 😂 don’t feel nervous about asking questions or ordering off of it. It’s also about overall quality & value. They use noticeably fresh ingredients like crunchy, flavorful veggies, often overlooked at other chains. It’s fast food but all things considered it’s on the wholesome side. Very high consistency across the state, friendly service, clean facilities. Besides the potential for queues at certain hours, it’s a pleasant, dependable fast food experience. And even when there are crowds, they have people w iPads walking up the drive thru queue on foot to get the orders cooking quickly. They can get extremely busy but it feels like a wall-oiled machine. They’re also pretty affordable at $3-5 a burger, not $8-12 like ShakeShack. As Californians travel between San Francisco, LA, Tahoe, etc. it’s a near-universally loved, dependable, familiar experience while on the road. You see a cross-section of society there and in my experience it’s generally positive vibes. 8:28 Ssam are Korean lettuce wraps into which you put bbq meat, pickled veggies, and misc. things, analogous to a Protein Style burger. I’ve never seen anyone order the tomato version but my GF legitimately does Protein Style burgers (lettuce instead of bun) most visits, not a gimmick.

If you go to a fast food restaurant please, for the love of all that is good, don't eat healthy! If the restaurant is known for burgers don't get it wrapped in lettuce or tomatoes (weird)! Get it with the bun, burger, and then everything else you want on it! One of the guys had chili's on his which is good, however if you want authentic green chili you need to come to Albuquerque, NM the green chili capital of the world! We have mild, moderate, hot, and insane! Depending on your ability to handle hot and spicy or lack there of will determine what degree you choose. Ther is also red chili which tends to be tamer than green. Hope to see you in New Mexico.! When you come to Albuquerque try Sadie's my favorite New Mexican restaurant!

Dunkin donuts are unfortunately a disappointment anymore. At one time up until about 30 years ago they were made fresh on site all day every day and they were great, now they are garbage made in a factory and delivered to the stores. Cheap coffee is where they focus profits nowadays.

They really do not eat that much. They each take two bites out every item they try. They are not completely eating the entire menu.

I love these guys but I can't see them reaching a million subscribers unless James modifies his accent to be more in line with RP (Received Pronunciation).

If y’all turn the volume of the videos down anymore nobody will hear them. Y’all are louder than those videos you react to.

James...you microphone volume is too loud..turn it down. when you talk we have to lower our volume and when you go back to the video...we have to raise the volume. Its hard to understand what you say when you talk with the volume being so high.

You guys should watch them react to What-a-Burger. Josh and Ollie both said best fast food burger EVER!! I live on the border of Texas and Oklahoma. We do not have In and Out here but I ate it when in Phoenix Az. They are ok but just a fresh hot McDonalds if you ask me. But….What a Burger is FRESH!!! The wait is a little longer but the food is WORTH it! Their best is a patty melt. Try it next time you come to US. Not sure if a nationwide chain but definitely a middle and southern state chain of stores! PS Millie, wow! I can’t believe how fast the time has flown in your pregnancy. Looking good honey! Wishing you a safe delivery and a happy and healthy family!
