Fun fact about the Hudson: it's Broadways oldest theatre house, and home of Broadways first female producer! Irene "Renee" Harris owned it with her husband Henry B. Harris. They were on the Titanic when it sank, but only she survived. In fact, she's the only person to get injured on the Titanic *before* it sank! She slipped on a bit of cake that someone dropped on the Grand Staircase and fractured her right elbow... just a few hours before the ship hit the iceberg. She actually got out of the first lifeboat she was in to rejoin her husband on the ship, but she eventually got into another, Collapsible D, which was the last one to be rescued by the ship Carpathia. I have a first edition of the Titanic book A Night To Remember signed by both her and the author that I got for 55 cents in a used book sale, and she circled herself in the photo of her lifeboat being rescued. That's how I learned of this amazing woman who kept the Hudson going until the Great Depression, becoming Broadway's first female producer in memory of her husband, despite others telling her to sell the theatre to pay her late husband's debts.

Fun fact: The "More Red, More Blue, More Beer" sign at the bar was designed by Jake Gyllenhaal when he and Annaleigh Ashford reopened the Hudson with Sunday in the Park with George (Also by Sondheim)

Love the Hudson! I also sat in Center Dress Circle for this..great seat. Very roomy lobby and comfortable seats. The staff said they were recording a cast album.

Have been to performances at the Hudson before. It’s one of the more comfortable theaters. Surprised you didn’t mention that the seats were bigger than most Broadway theaters. Also, no mention of the beautiful Tiffany glass ceiling. I have tickets to see Merrily next month. Very much looking forward to it. Please tell us about your visit to The Shed next, then Six.

Saw it downtown in New York Theatre Workshop back in December, but Lindsey Mendez was out. I will be seeing this again in March for their final Broadway performance.

Mickey-Jo, you're still suffering from jetlag. Not everything works in reverse. The play, yes, the vlog, no. You guys are so cute together. Of course I follow both your vlogs. Keep them coming. Many thanks and stay well

I actually saw the original Bway production - Jim Walton (original Frank) is a friend from summer stock - which I immediately loved the score of but which had one of Hal Prince's worst stagings for. The costumes with everyone in T-shirts with characters' names printed on the front were horrible. And the gymnasium bleachers set was ghastly. But the book was good, and the score sublime. Saw several subsequent productions, including this one at the NY Theatre Workshop. This one is phenomenal, unmissable. If you like the score, try to get a ticket to this production (which I believe has been extended). Glad you both enjoyed it. Now I want your views on "Here We Are." For me, a very different experience...

I honestly would love to see a “Merrily Edit” where it does start at the end, and goes to the beginning.

I was actually in a community production of Merrily in Sydney in 1985 (I think. The Musical Director was Simone Young the orchestral & opera conductor back when we were all working our futures out...and we did...

According to the program I'm holding in my hand, the production is calling it an "intermission" rather than an "interval." So the Hudson is not totally Britified.

I know I will probably get pushback for saying this but I would like to see Aeron establishing his own channel apart from Mickey Jo. Rather than this becoming the Aeron and Mickey show. I know you're getting married and 'what's mine is yours' and all that but I'd like to get to know your individual opinions. Because I subscribed for Mickey and I feel his partner could do with working on his own brand maybe? Correct me if I'm wrong
