Brock started late and is forever one of the greats, a hall of Famer, and he has literally 1 less belt defense than both stipe and fedor. Brock is top ten of all time, at worst, top 20.

man I've been watching brock ever since he first started pro wrestling. He's always been a beast and I've always been a fan. Even when he switched to MMA I was still a fan. I used to fight in mma, from state to state, and all my buddies would crack on him and make fun of me for being a fan. But that guy's a warrior. If I had to fight a Roman legion in Gaul, I wouldn't want anyone else by my side. I just wish the UFC was big back when he was a young nobody. He could have been one of the greatest.

People fail to realize how serious his disease was. This guy was dying. But BEFORE he got sick, he MANHANDLED EVERY OPPONENT including Couture and Mir. Mir, who just lost to the current champion, JDS. After the surgery Brock was never the same. He lost weight, his speed declined, and he was getting rocked very easily. Couture was able to test his chin and Brock was able to get past through those punches and take him down. Brock was the #1 HW before his surgery.

Basically, weights training achieves 2 things: strength and endurance. By doing different drills, you make your muscles stronger and enable them to work harder over longer stretches of time. Fighters also use weights for explosiveness drills. Weights are part of a complex training routine, fighters don't lift them just to get bigger. The goal functional strength and overall conditioning.
