An underrated song. Modern folk history. Reflects a time gone forever, but still lucky to be an Australian. (March 2021)

RIP Broderick. Bought this single. Would have bought 'Faded Roses' - I was obsessed with it - but couldn't find it in record stores. A kind 4BK deejay sent me their copy after a few months.

I'll never understand why this band wasn't bigger than they were but I guess it was the early '80s & raw talent was becoming less of a requirement for success... And for the record, this song will always get my vote for National Anthem. If you new my Dad, you'd know why.

Broderick used to play at a pub I ran in Footscray. At one of those gigs my brother asked me to ask Brod to play this song. He politely refused, telling me that he no longer performed this song. We were both perplexed at the time. It really is a great song.
