I get a lot of messages and comments saying people working with tight finances can't do minimalism because it's to expensive or believe that only people coming from privilege can do it. I started minimalism in a year that I made a total of $5,800 (it's on my tax return I promise) and when I didn't see many other KZitemrs of color or "poorer" ones sharing their journey. Minimalism gave me a lot of power and control in a time when I felt I didn't have much over my own life and finances and I just wanted to share a bit of that with you guys. YES minimalism often can and will look very different for people with different funds, but that isn't a reason to completely reject the concept. There is so much more to minimalism than just stuff and I believe everyone can take away something positive from the lifestyle regardless of how much money you have. You can check out my older videos to see how I did minimalism while hustling with three jobs and being a nursing student.
