Miss you and Chuckee colaborating. Too bad Chuck burned down his channel. I agree with everything he says and we are seeing his predictions transpire. Too bad he had to take a Yuge monetary hit trying to explain the obvious. I recommend you both start a Rumb channel. I bet there are thousands like me who would subscribe.

Another good one, Messed up deal on parts though, and really disturbing seeing that race so loose, do you think that was the reason for the seal problem??? One of my seals on the 2500 dodge started leaking and it was actually the vent tube stopped up, but I got some practice working on the truck because of it😬
@calholli
Жыл бұрын
If it keeps killing seals, it's because the bearing is out of spec somehow. edit: A spinning race will do it. lol.. Another thing you can do to fix those is take a punch and ping some divots all around where the race goes. Then when you press it in there the uneven surface from all those divots will bind and bite into the race and keep it from spinning.
@badmonkey3669
Жыл бұрын
You could have taken a punch and dimpled the area all around where the race sits which raises the metal then your race fits tight again works good for such occasions

Those are called cassette seals, although labyrinth seals function the same but are typically made of brass and use o-rings and commonly found on electric motors, or at least in my field or work.

I'm assuming your race issue was the cause of your seals going bad. I had a similar problem but it turned out my axle vent was clogged and the seal was the weak point once it built enough pressure.

If you are left with no choice but to replace the hub and still cannot find one, I was wondering if a machine shop that does spray welding could build that bearing surface back up to where you need it?
