me? do I know the close? do you remember when harry & ralph made a model of the close? that was me & my then-girlfriend, the show's designer. we spent a whole day measuring the close, because the original plans were so off. then we built it slowly so the model could develop over a few episodes. yeah, I knew the close! duncan.

"king brookie"? you must be a big fan, ian... you're not ian weston, are you? :-) I worked on the close from 1984 to 1989 (the golden years, in many opinions), & I can tell you right now that the closing titles you have here made me laugh out loud- full of spelling mistakes! later the blue background changed to a still of the close & we had a computer to type the credits & get peoples' names right. yes, it was a great laugh most of the time. duncan (vision engineer)

i would love to see the first episode again.its the one where damon has nicked the collins's toilet as they are about to move in.the only place i've ssen it is at the photography museum in bradford in a section calledtv heaven.come on someone put it on here

It depended on what region you were in and whether your local ITV company had managed to sell the advertising space for them.

channnel four is not regional and did not sell advertising space as such in the beginiing, i know my uncle worked for them mate sorry. xxx

there were no adverts on channel four when it first began, it wa just the coloured four logo bouncing round the screen for two mins, it was annoying as well
