I grew in Brownsville my entire life .. I moved out of New York recently. Brownsville is definitely rough and rough is a understatement. I lost my brother to gun violence in 2014 in Brownsville I haven’t been back since. Their are some good people there but honestly a lot of ppl there are just making due, and they get by, by any means necessary, the surrounding projects are: Brownsville, Van Dyke, Howard, Glenmore, Langston Hughes (LH) Tilden and Sethlow , Marcus Garvey, Bamas and they all have their own ways of moving one don’t fuck with the other but they are literally 2 feet away from each other. There no place like Brooklyn though , with all that being said it taught me things that nowhere else could.

My auntie that just passed lived in flatbush and I went to a white castle in the wrong neighborhood. I thought ppl were gonna mess with me, but the ppl I came across just wanted to know more bout Toronto lol. Still talk to one on facebook today. Theres only the 10% of ppl from BK that make it rough.

Oh yeah? So somehow everyone in Flatbush knew you were from Toronto, and they were lining up to "ask you about Toronto"? Because that's how real life works, right? These people had so many questions about Toronto, and had this weird mental connection to know you were from there? Because that's real life, yeah? Wow.

This is literally Anthropology/Sociology/African American Studies. I would love to major in Sociology and become a public defender and move into politics for districts like these, and become the first African American Female President. I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Bayswater, Queens. Went to PS.104 Q and moved to South Carolina before Hurricane Katrina in 2012. Interesting what my life may have been because I live off of public service and my mom is a single mother with no job (there is a reason for this). Very very very interesting and I want to change the lives of people like this. Keep always making videos like this.❤️

No odds are against people from poor neighborhoods, it's about having a sense of self and identity. I grew up in foster care and lived in NYC PJs including The Ville, now as an adult I work in aerospace engineering. You decide your path and future, even if it means isolating yourself to get what you want in life.
