Edit: I just remembered this, but there may be an exclusive AUS/NZ eShop. I was looking up stuff about region changing and some guy on a forum from australia said he changed his region from aus to uk often so he could access the european eshop. this probably means there was an exclusive wii u eshop for australia, and i assume it was just a lesser version of the european eshop. scott could access it easily by making another account on his pal wii u and setting australia as the region.

That’s just how Japan is kinda, they incorporate a tiny bit of English text all over even though it’s mainly just Japanese. I don’t exactly know why I guess, but it’s not exclusive to the Wii U eshop I guess, like you’ll see that walking through the cities of Japan pretty much. But some games in the Eshop are also just games that are from overseas and have been localized for Japanese but use the same English title.
