MOVE is a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system in operation in the municipalities of Belo Horizonte, Ribeirão das Neves, Santa Luzia and Vespasiano, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The MOVE transport network is an integral part of the passenger transport systems by municipal bus in Belo Horizonte and the intercity bus system of RMBH, both under the management and planning of the Transport and Transit Company of Belo Horizonte (BHTRANS) and the State Secretariat for Infrastructure and Mobility (SEINFRA), respectively, with the operation of the system being the responsibility of the concessionaires operating the aforementioned transport networks.
It consists of a network of exclusive corridors and transfer stations along avenues Antônio Carlos, Cristiano Machado, Paraná, Pedro I, Santos Dumont and Vilarinho, in addition to integration stations in the administrative regions Northeast, Pampulha and Venda Nova, in Belo Horizonte, as well as in the municipalities of Ribeirão das Neves, Santa Luzia and Vespasiano, in the RMBH. In this way, it establishes a connection between the hypercenter and the northern vector of the capital and its metropolitan region. Inaugurated on March 8, 2014, it currently has a network of 23.1 km of corridors that transport 500 thousand passengers daily.
The implementation of BRT in Belo Horizonte was officially announced by the Municipality of Belo Horizonte, through BHTRANS, on December 16, 2010, as a proposal for urban mobility for the city. The project is part of the city's Urban Mobility Plan, which established guidelines and targets for transport and transit in the city until 2030. The implementation of MOVE is seen as an alternative to delays in the modernization and expansion of the city's metro-railway system, in addition to being used as a mobility offer during the 2014 FIFA World Cup matches, which had Brazil as the host country.
