Hats off to Dr Bruce Arnes! At this age, he adresses a varied crowd, (unfazed by the different response) His utmost concern, that people get information, education on health facts , and optimum nutrition is just admirable. Being intellectually honest, and outspoken is more important than anyother insignificant thing.

Dr. Ames at his age is a great example to the much older people to strive to stay active and live longer. He gave practical ideas and real truths to what we should eat to survive. Thank you for the wisdom you have shared today.

Currently, the most deficient vitamins have changed to Vitamin A, D and iron. Lack of vitamin A causes a weakening of mucosal immunity. Lack of iron caused patients to suffocate due to iron deficiency anemia.

I find it interesting that Dr Ames recommends eating greens every day, since he was the one who identified the many naturally occurring pesticides and anti nutrients in plant foods!

He has a lot of stereotyping unfortunately. The info is good info but I listened to the entire lecture while multitasking, with only some slight annoyance at the stereotyping of obese people, but on a second listen, I noticed some stereotyping that I wasn’t very comfortable with. In regards to obese people, it is quite common for many of us to eat many more salads, fresh or sautéed veggies, lean meats, fruits esp. berries, legumes, olive oil, etc., and eat a varied diet. As for me, I’ve been dieting my entire life and have taken plenty of nutrition classes for my own benefit, and stayed active, and I still have high inflammation, despite all other markers being fine. So I struggle with this idea that obese people or poor people or any ethnicity fits into the category of eating comfort foods. I enjoyed this information and his sense of humor very much, but I did not care for the stereotyping.

I agree. I had to go back and listen to it 3 time just to see if I heard him right. Omg. And he didn’t hesitate one bit. That’s probably his every day language around his own people. That’s sad. Especially in a open setting.
