Bruce Campbell b. 1948 - A British Light Music composer, conductor and arranger well known for his popular Television theme tunes like the jaunty 'Skippy' from 'Seeing Sport' He seemed to reach a peak in the 1940's/50's and was much favoured by light music legends Robert Farnon and Charles Williams.
From the album of rare Light Music gems 'Sounds Spectacular Vinyl Treasures', a short piece by a talented 'jobbing' Light Music Composer Bruce Campbell. This kind of music often a bespoke composition was created to accompany various themes on the big or the small screens. Today it simply beautifully encapsulates the atmosphere of a recently bygone era and makes one even more nostalgic.
On this video true to the nature of this musical kind of 'Program' genre, the theme is London Taxi Cabs, featuring around London's Piccadilly Circus back in the 1950/60's. No prizes for guessing the adored cockney spiv character from the 1963 film 'Carry on Cabby' featuring all the usual iconic cast that made us laugh so much with those amazing 'Carry On' of films.
Enjoy another dose of nostalgia.
