Good review JC, You are spot on with that last song, there is a Pink Floyd/Gilmour vibe in that song.

Very good piece of work- I just wish we had more guitar! More harmonies, more solos….thats what made the prior trilogy with Roy so great

This was a very divisive album. Some hated it. I know Necrotic Nick liked it.

To be honest I used to love thrash, Death and black metal when I was young but now I'm a grandad im 52 and you realise the music was rubbish when you look back.

I'll check this album out this weekend. I liked the first song. As you may know, I'm not the biggest Bruce Dickinson fan. So I was surprised I liked the first song. Have a great weekend, John! Cheers! 🤘🏼🍻

I’ve been a big Maiden and Bruce fan since I was a kid. The Bruce solo albums that I ended up loving (Tyranny and Chemical) took quite a few listens to get it. Those two albums are two of the metal genre in the 90s. This is will take a few listens I think.

Yes I think this was similar to the most recent Iron Maiden albums they were a little more complex than usual so I think some people didn't really give it a chance.

Resurrection man is my favourite on the new album. I was lucky enough to speak to Bruce about it yesterday, I said "man it just caught me so off guard" and bruce just burst out laughing, the fact it's him on guitar playing the lead at the Start is really cool to me I told him he should play more guitar cos it sounds so awesome and he just said "ahhh noooooo" such a class guy 🤣

Also why are all American rock/metal bands release so many hit and miss albums. They release a great album then 3 poor ones.

Yeah, hard to say. It is usually when a band changes their sound to try to fit in with whatever is trending.

i listened to a few songs and its ok and does sound a bit like maiden but whatever bruce does i dont think he will ever do as good as maiden did many years ago. just like metallica cant match what they used to do on their first albums. bruce doing solo album feels more like a cash grab to me than anything else. its still cool in some way.

I thought there was some similarity with some of the later Iron Maiden albums. I have also noticed that Bruce likes writing the longer and more epic songs now.

Eternity has fail is the original. Steve Harris heard it and wanted it on book of souls but altered parts to make it more maiden.

Hi John!! nice review and it sounds like a pretty good solo album by Bruce...... Ihave heard the first two singles, they kind of remind me if "Tyranny of Souls" whih is a good thing to me...... I will try to get the regular edition, not the one with the comic books. cheers and be well

You're the first person to mention it's a concept album and even mention the comic/story . Other reviews never mention and just review the songs. Hats off to you mate. The hype has overtaken this release and as with Maiden usual greatest thing since sliced bread or it's not Maiden etc etc Not a huge Maiden fan seen once, have a few cds

Nice review of the new Bruce Dickinson album John! I know Hector wasn't a huge fan, but I've seen others give it more positive reviews. I'm glad you like it though, I remember hearing that first single and wasn't too impressed. Not that it was bad, it was just average. I might check out the album, not sure. Cheers man, great insight as usual 🤘🏻🤘🏻
