Thank you.i have just started studying Microbial Fuel Technologies. However i will develop my studies in the future in this area my base will be thanks to you and your introduction!

Thank you for encouraging me to study MFC tech. Your video gave me the idea, so I preserved and pursued this study. My study used Azolla as a substrate for MFC, then coconut shell and rice hull as carbon block electrodes. I used the single-chamber method. However, I achieved around 300 to 500+mV and 10 to 200+mA per chamber. I did not manage to test its capabilities to light a small bulb. It was a fun experiment.

If they can get to the point that they fully understand it, and can duplicate it, it will work anywhere. Why do we not see so much waste from other living things' life cycle? Because nature has a way of recycling everything. We SHOULD be exploring ways to follow suit.

I'm wondering if the magnesium and aluminum in the soil here in Louisiana that the ants use for the ant mantle can be used for anode material? Packed in a mesh bag. Should I use a multimeter on some and see if it conducts?

Well, the conversion needs to be stated correctly. First of all, it is 2000 kcal/day not 2000 cal/day. If that is the case then, 1 cal is equal to 4.184 joule. 2000 kcal is equal to 8368 kjoules. So, 100 Watt light bulb will use 100 joule/second (1 Watt = 1 Joule/sec). Therefore, you can light this bulb for a day (83689 sec) with 2000 kcal/day.

It's actually 2000 kcal, not 2000 cal. So his calculation was correct.

Yeah, I was going for 2000 kcal not 2000 cal. You can light the bulb for a day at this rate. But here 2:14, the picture includes both 2,000 cal and kcal. It should only be 2,000 kcal not cal.

This is actually not a mistake on the slide. Apparently there is a difference between small calories (cal) and large calories (Cal). 1Cal = 1000cal or 1kcal. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calorie It's like they tried to make this as confusing as possible.

@@theDistiller 1 Cal = 1000 kcal, it is how they name it in biochemistry or biology

UmmaNCO, away from the kcal or cal, this clear calculation was the thing i NEEDED. Thank You.I was wondering (even got anxious :D) in the first 2 sec that ok, 1bulb, but how long? Because 1 bulb is not that much, but trough the day, it is something.
