(Description updated on July 31, 2024 to add information about the closure of Pinarama Lanes and their converted Brunswick pinsetters)
Note: This is not my video, it was officially given to me by someone who used to work there.
For all of the bowling and machine enthusiasts out there, here is a video of a Brunswick A-2 converted Model A pinsetter from the back of lane 1! The building was built in 1956 and the pinsetters were manufactured in 1959, only to be converted later on.
The location is Pinarama Lanes in Tampa, Florida (second incarnation, open from 1998 to 2022). Was an ice skating rink before that, and until the 1970s or 1980s was Dale Mabry Lanes and the first Pinarama Lanes.
I tried my best to quiet down the video a little, as the microphone would have been maxed out due to the turnaround pan at the back.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:31 - Strike cycle
0:53 - 1st ball cycle
1:07 - 2nd ball cycle
1:25 - Pinsetter power off and exit
Recorded on December 2, 2017 with an LG G5.
