The law allows it, and on a freezing cold day, it can be a good result. Few hours in the warm, some food, maybe a bed for the night. It was a tradition in one police station to arrest a tramp who lived under a flyover every Christmas eve, that went on for many years. It was an act of great charity.

@@ChronicIsCreative The responsibility is with the local authority. The only way that the police can keep someone overnight and supply them with meals, tea, access to the shower and so on is to arrest them. That particular old chap was seen by thousands of people, some would bung him a couple of quid, but none ever offered to take him home, and the local authority was no help at all. He really didn't mind his once a year arrest. He used to do drawings of ships on cardboard boxes, in crayon, story was that he was old 'merchant navy'. Eventually, he became ill, and had to be found a hospital bed. Local authorities suddenly found that he needed to be 'taken into care'. As he had no next of kin, 'authorities' would not tell anyone what happened to him. 'Society' is pretty mucked up.

Police should not be muzzled because it's a barrier to important to verbal and non verbal communication. It also makes them look subjugated and without integrity, it's hard to feel respect for someone wearing a face nappy. Another issue is that being able to identify them is important in order to hold them accountable. No honest person should have their face covered. PS. I remember when the local beat bobby would have give him a few quid and told him to go and get a cup of tea until he had gone. Them were the days when the police helped the public not beat them up.

You should start asking people's concerns about vaccines
@nigellovelace8492
3 жыл бұрын
‘Science’ needs ten years of trials to test a new vaccine. Refusing this vaccine because the survival rate of the virus is 99.7% and the medium and long term effects of the vaccine are unknown is about as pro-science as you can get. ‘Suck it and see’ is NOT a pro-science stance.
