You're a legend mate, tried to jetwash my driveway yesterday for the first time and ended up with pools of sludge from all the moss. Thought I was doing it wrong so gave up and was grumpy for the rest of the day, now I know I was doing it right - I just needed a snow shovel! Having another go this morning. Shame you're not closer as I'd just get you to do it for me! 😃

I pressure washed my roof. The sludge was epic. The only snag was it exposed the faded pale roof tiles. Block paving has to be re-sanded afterwards. Jet washing blows out some sand and can cause the blocks to loosen.

'It's the right thing to do' should be reason enough for people to clean up after themselves. But for idiots for whom that isn't enough, not cleaning up after yourself will cost you money. You've put in all that time and money and other resource to finding a client. If you then go about embarassing your client by annoying their neighbours, you'll not get any repeat business from them, you're not going to get any business from the neighbour, and all the people they'd otherwise tell about how good you are, they'll tell them about what a cowboy you are. Ben's channel is a couple of years old now, I reckon we're going to start to see him doing familiar drives sooner rather than later as happy customers ask him back. If you look at the channels that have been going a lot longer like Ricky Banjo's you'll see he gets a nice income from repeat business.

In Aust we can easily buy temporary downpipe, which is plastic tubing 75mm diameter. Used by builders to direct water when gutters are installed but the down pipes haven’t. Great for making temporary booms. Just tie an end, fill it with water and tie off the other end. Comes in 100m lengths. Takes up no space in the van.

The sanding is confusing me. I've only ever seen this done with wet sand - as in, they literally spray it with a hose every now and then to keep it moist. Supposedly it's supposed to be wet, but you seem to always use dry sand. Certainly looks easier. Looking it up online, if I search in English, the consensus seems to be the sand HAS to be dry. If, however, I search in German, people talk about how much water you need to add. I'm guessing this is a regional difference, then, but it is quite interesting, isn't it. Now I wonder what actually works better and if the hassle with extra heavy sand in any way justifies any possible advantages. ...or perhaps they use different sand here?

I'm fascinated with the tidy yards (we Yanks call them yards, you Brits call them gardens or so I'm told) all enclosed with a neat masonry wall. Here in the US, all that brick and stone work would cost an arm and a leg, so we have the land surrounding our houses planted in grass, often with no fences between us and the neighbors. I'm not sure which requires more maintenance, the weekly mowing or sweeping the brick, plus the occasional pressure wash.
