Will a building's water pressure affect (defeat) the GMP of a Unit ? I'm thinking of buying a 14 GPM unit with 2200 PSI for clearing grease drain clogs in PVC pipes. I also heard that PSI should be close to (or Compliment) the GPM flow rate. Asking about that too ;) Thanks!

The buffer tank on the jetter acts to keep the GPM as high as required by the pump, in this case 9gpm. If the input is lower than the required GPM output, a larger buffer tank or doubling your hose connections are the two options you have. You may also reduce the hose being used (1/4" hose with 5gpm heads) to reduce the output. The proper understanding of GPM and PSI when choosing a jetter to purchase is this: Higher GPM means you can clean larger pipe, Higher PSI means that GPM will cut better. 9GPM and 4000 PSI is where nozzle manufacturers are focused on currently, so it is recommended to consider that flow rate when considering cleaning anything 6" and below.

Hey what was the name of that little ENZ nozzly you had?
That's 1800 psi loss for 500' of 3/8". Thats not much pressure at the nozzle. You should use 1/2" hose on the main reel. Just as a comparison, 500' of 1/2" is only 415 psi loss.

Absolutely correct Ben! Here's some info to think about alongside your comment: The nozzle is the flow restrictor, and you adjust your flow to increase or decrease the psi at the end of the hose. To get more PSI on the end of your extension hose, it is recommended to have lower GPM heads. Ex: the working pressure of an 18gpm US Jetter at the end of its 500' 1/2" hose is a 31% loss in pressure ~appox(340psi/18gpm/per 100' of 1/2" hose). No one debates the effectiveness, but the other idea that works to reduce the loss is to have a 10gpm nozzle on the 1/2" hose for a 15% loss in pressure ~approx(120psi/10gpm/per 100' of 1/2" hose) *site* CAT PUMPS 2009

Just to elaborate further regarding 500ft of 3/8" jetter hose. We would recommend the Enz 1/4" Rev RototDrill (36.025NIREV 1.5 mm). This nozzle has vastly more cutting power than a WS-1/2 regardless the hose length. At 6 gpm with 500ft of 3/8" hose there is only a (15%) 611 psi loss. leaving a working pressure of 3,389 psi The newer generation Enz nozzles are a better focused (laser beam like) jet stream with more intensity than a water blasting nozzle, resulting in a smaller jet stream with more .

I called up to give you some business I wanted to get a forbest camera cable end repaired your camera guy said he doesn't work on that brand what I understand he also said its not worth the cost to repair a forbest it's not a 10k camera but it's over 5k so I don't see it as a throw away either not cool trying to give your company business and get insulted

@@brian2100 Sorry that happened. If you're willing please call back and ask for John. I'll look into the matter tomorrow. Just to let you know where my thoughts are... Most of the Forbest and knock-offs we see come in are sub $1000 camera systems. The repair cost for these cameras are usually to expensive compared to original purchase price. (considered a throw away) A 5k camera system is a different discussion all together. The Camtronics mini-flex and Ridgid sub-compact models are two good examples. We were at one time repairing 15 different makes and models. Many manufacturers when they release a new model the repair parts for older models a become obsolete. When they are older it's difficult to support these cameras and justify expensive repair cost.

@@brian2100 Most installs around here are less tank. So here is the break down... The Jetter weights in at 500 lbs. The 100 gal tank empty is about 100 lbs. A full tank of water your about 1000 lbs (water weights 8.33 lbs per. gallon) . So the max weight is about 1,500 lbs.
