I listened to this song just once on the radio in 1991. I was on the bus, going to school, and the DJ never said the name of the song or the name of the singer. No Google, no Shazam, there was no way I could possibly find the song. The voice was familiar - Bryan Adams was actually very popular here in Brazil. I didn't speak English very well at the time, so I just remembered the part "thought I die and go to heaven". Years later I found a Bryan Adams Hit Collection CD and there was a song called Heaven. Not the same. I never listened to the song again, but I never forgot it. So, today, on the random playlist that Spotify offered me, there it was!!! Almost 3 decades have passed since that morning on the bus. It felt like I was 16 again. You cant imagine how happy I am to find this song. It's on repeat all day long. Thank you, Bryan Adams, for such amazing songs.

This song would actually make me cry when I listened to it. This song was unforgettable since the very first time I heard it. I didn't even know English then, and I could actually sing it. I memorized it the same like Everything I do, I do it for you. Everything I do I do it for you I memorized the lyrics . I used to sing it when I was a kid and I remember my neighbor came to my town from LA and heard me singing it and said to me, it's amazing but you actually singing the words in real English. He asked, do you speak English, I sadly said no. He said to me maybe one day you will. I said to him, I love English. I wish to learn it. It's a beautiful language. Again BRYAN ADAMS, it's a great singer with great hits. This Canadian singer is amazing. We love you BRYAN Adams and stay healthy.

Bryan Adam's fan here. I'm 39 and never heard this song until this year, thanks to youtube. I'm enjoying the crap out of it. I don't believe I've ever heard this song on the radio. I have no idea why. It's great!

Love is forever as I lie awake Beside you I believed, there's no heaven No hideaway, for the lonely But I was wrong, crazy It's gotta be strong It's gotta be right Only wanted to stay a while (Woah, woah, woah) Only wanted to play a while (Woah, woah, woah) Then you taught me to fly like a bird (Woah, woah, woah) Baby, thought I'd died and gone to heaven Such a night I never had before Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Cause what I got there ain't no cure for Oooh it's so easy What you do to me all night angel I never loved, I swear to God Never needed no one, 'til you came along But here I come, yeah baby It's gotta be strong - it's gotta be right Only wanted to stay awhile (Woah, woah, woah) Only wanted to play awhile (Woah, woah, woah) Then you taught me to fly like a bird (Woah, woah, woah) Baby - thought I'd died and gone to heaven Such a night I never had before Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Cause what I got there ain't no cure for I feel fast asleep, I feel drunk I dream the sweetest dreams Never wanna wake up Never thought it could be this way No doubt about it, can't live without it, baby Never thought it could be this good You made love to me, like it oughta be But I was wrong - crazy It's gotta be strong It's gotta be right Only wanted to stay awhile (Woah, woah, woah) Only wanted to play awhile (Woah, woah, woah) But then you taught me to fly like a dove (Woah woah Woah) Baby, thought I'd died and gone to heaven Such a night I never had before Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Cause what I got there ain't no cure for Gotta say, thought I'd died and gone to heaven Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Never thought that I could feel this way (Thought I'd died and gone to heaven) It's gotta be love (It's gotta be love) It's gotta be love Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Thought I'd died and gone to, heaven, heaven Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Thought I'd died and gone to heaven Thought I'd died and gone to heaven

When I hear this song it takes me back to a girl I used to know, a girl that meant a lot to me. "I only wanted to stay a while, I only wanted to play a while, then you taught me to fly like a bird......Baby I thought I had died and gone to heaven". I think most people have had this someone in their lives at one time and if you haven't I truly feel for you because you are missing out on one of the best experiences you will ever have in your life. Someone you never truly forget regardless of where you go in life or what you do in life. I don't know where she is and I don't know what ever became of her but to this day like Adams said in another of his great songs, "those were the best days of my life":)
