Really cool video! I went to the top of the quarry earlier today but couldn’t find an entrance. Did you also visit the other ruin building in the distance (on the hill opposite)?

Bryneglwys is actually 2 different mines, Cantrybedd on the left (when facing down the valley) and Bryneglwys on the right which you can easily see an incline and winding drum. They were connected underground but connection has since collapsed. The forestry commission has ruined the place, and most adits and buildings are overgrown and hard to find. The easiest to find is level 20c which is directly in front of where you park (next to a wind up information speaker, go straight on to foot of tips or until see an old tramway) but even getting to that it's a bit overgrown. The top adit on Cantrybedd side is extremely hard to find you've got to follow the tips and tramways all the way to the top and it's hard because path and tramways are overgrown. The bryneglwys side adits are all overgrown. You need a grasp of the lay of the land how it used to look with tramways and the quarry cuttings from the pits. I used the old map with all shafts and adits and compared with OS map. I bought a book slate from Abergynolwyn just to get maps and surveys of the place. I could send copy of map for Cantrybedd side of you send me messenger link

Only book I've got on Bryneglwys is "slates of Abergynolwyn", but it's brilliant book, with maps and plans and old photos. I ordered mine off amazon. Theres also a Welsh book shop where I live in Blaenau called "Yr hen bost", she gets hold of very rare and obscure slate history books
