Thanks for bringing the driver down mate! Can you clarify how the driver was ordered? Or have you added any head weight to it? As you can see theres a few comments on the swingweight as it was abnormally high.

Yes Trackman Vs Quad when normalized at my distance is around 8 - 10 yards different, which is quite substantial. It's quite well known now that quad is probably slightly generous on yardages against Trackman. And personally I think Trackman is closer. And yeah 10ft is prob 3-5 yards

This is NOT Bryson's driver. Bryson plays a Formula Fire LD 6degree (Long Drive ) Krank head. The model you are showing is the Formula Fire Pro that comes in 7.5, 9 and 10.5 degree loft. I believe the LD head is also a little smaller than the Pro head. I have both and the LD is really the better of the two heads, assuming your angle of attack is 4-6 degrees up to take advantage of the low loft LD head as Bryson does. High launch, low loft , low spin bombs.

Interesting video, the E0 swing weight for sure playing a role in the spin of the Krank driver. That head was probably in the neighborhood of 210g a bit heavy for a 50g shaft to handle most of the fastest long drivers will play a substantially lighter head with a very light shaft 40-50g ladies or reg flex. You for sure function better at a lighter swing weight as well as total weight evidenced by the homa berus that is a 190g head 35 or 40g shaft and if stock a 40 some gram grip. Would be interesting to see how a stealth 2 plus or a paradym with the weight removed in a 40g 50g regular works for you ventus red or a paderson kenetixs is where I would start for max distance.

I would certainly agree with that. But in this instance the length, head weight, and therefore swingweight were far bigger factors than what the shaft was. If you send us over something to spec then I'm more than happy to do another test against a big name brand.

I definitely agree it's nowhere near as scientific as my normal tests. But this was always just going to be more of a fun video. Also I would say it's the swingweight that makes the difference here, not the shafts. Shafts we know don't change launch and spin, and they are basically the same weight, so had they been the same swingweight that wouldn't have played a factor. Even with the swingweight being vastly different I still think some data can be gathered from the test. Mainly that the Krank is definitely a higher spin head than the Stealth 2+. But it would be interesting to do this test as the same swingweight to see if the swing speed and ball speed changed at all.

Please don't be offended... YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT BIG TIME! The thing you should have tested was OFF CENTER STRIKES and resulting dispersion at your highest swing speeds. kzitem.info/news/bejne/uqFsk5h3nIicaJg
@epgolfstudios
Жыл бұрын
I don't disagree, however I'm not good enough to test that accurately. To be fair to both clubs all off centre hits that you are testing would need to be to the mm the same plus the same face to path would also need to be identical. If that's not the case then you wouldn't be representing each club fairly. In that sort of test it would always be way more down to the human than the club. And I'm confident the results could flip day to day. The dispersion is pretty much always down to the person and the face angle at impact. With pretty much all modern drivers you will get a pretty good result with a mishit if the delivery is good. The reality is on mishits there Just isn't much between any of them anymore. Even the "less forgiving" models.

I sometimes wrap a 2-6g lead head weight around the butt of the shaft before putting a heavier grip on to get the swing weight down a little. Used my krank driver it’s the middle one face thickness is for people who drive between 200 and 260 . The shaft it the fujikura speeder tour light My average drive is about 230 to 240 . Today I had at least 4 drives that went straight down the middle and went 270 to 280 . The key to this set up is swing easy and take full swing , when I did this the ball exploded . When I tried to swing hard with quicker tempo it did not go so far . I’m gonna have to teach myself how to swing with a better tempo and let the shaft and club do the work !! I took the plastic off head at first tee it’s a 9 degree stock settings . I’m so stoked to practice with this and fail in the settings . It’s the best driver I’ve hit … I’m thinking I can get a few 300 yard drives once I get the feel of how this club works !!! Crazy

If you happen to catch a glimpse of the sole of Bryson’s driver you’ll see that he has quite a bit of lead tape near the front which is of course meant to lower spin and launch. That also being said I did recently hit the latest formula xx driver (200-260 yard version) non conforming club and I was vastly underwhelmed. First the sound is absolutely awful imo. Extremely high pitched and tingy and it just sounds very cheap. That would be fine if it performed as promised. I put it against my stealth 2 plus and it did not once manage to out drive the Taylormade and to make matters worse it’s dispersion was way worse as well. I really hoped this driver was going to live up to its billing and I really gave it my best effort but to no avail. Save your money, don’t believe the hype. I should’ve known this was a scam because the moment you try and post an independent review you cannot find anywhere to do so. Their customer service post sale is non existent but overwhelmingly present when you are browsing. There is no posted guarantee, warranty or return policy on their website. A complete scam.

Well if it is illegal it's doing a terrible job as it's easily the least efficient out of all the drivers 😂 the only reason I got more ball speed from it is purely the extra swing speed that I could generate from the light setup. If I had gotten that swing speed out of the Stealth 2 then the ball speed would have been higher than the Honma. Unless I had to take mass from the head in order to get that swing speed, and that in turn lowered efficiency like the Honma 🤷 But if it is illegal I wouldn't say that played much of a part in the ball speed tbh

Really good video. Bryson has mentioned it in videos where most of the OEM companies make drivers for ball speeds in the 175-180s. With these kids now hitting 190-200+ ball speeds there needs to be driver faces made with metals that can withstand the hit load. TM has tour non-carbonwood faces, and PING has produced thicker faces just to offset the small percentage of tour players that have those ball speeds.

Definitely the E1 swing weight. 46" is the culprit there. Cut it down to 45". And the swing weight would fall in line around D4. Then you can compare apples to apples. The head is more than likely not heavier and if so, not by much.
