Come along on a highlights tour of the Being Human exhibition at Wellcome Collection led by Deaf performance artist and BSL art tour guide Chisato Minamimura.
In this video tour Chisato uses a mix British Sign Language (BSL) and Visual Vernacular (VV), a physical theatre technique with elements of sign language, poetry and gesture, primarily performed by Deaf artists, to give you a unique tour to the exhibition.
Wellcome Collection’s permanent exhibition 'Being Human' explores what it means to be human in the 21st century. It reflects our hopes and fears about new forms of medical knowledge, and our changing relationships with ourselves, each other and the world. Featuring 50 artworks and objects, the gallery is divided into four sections: Genetics, Minds & Bodies, Infection, and Environmental Breakdown.
This tour will give you an introduction to the exhibition and the four sections, focussing on key objects and artwork in each section.
