This song came to me a year after my little brother passed away. Hearing it the first time gave me chills. Reading the lyrics after that first listen made me break down and finally mourn my brother properly.

Film Out is one of my favorites, in fact most Japanese songs are! They all sound incredible but Jimin's voice is just so special, there is no one like him. Jk's adlibs are really great too. Idk if it's just me but I have an obsession with watching RM's mouth as he raps/sings. I'm not sure if it's the way he manipulates it to get the sound he wants and it's super weird and probably creepy of me to say but it is what it is 😂.

One reason that I love BTS so much is that each of the 4 vocalists have their own distinctive voices and each of the 3 rappers have their own distinctive rap style. That is one reason their solo ventures have gone so well. There might be idols with better vocals (but not better rappers, imo), but not better handoffs or blending of very different voices.

I sobbed for hours the first time I heard this song. It was so intense and the message and timing of the song hit hard after some painful losses. The phrase “the fragrance I smell, the warmth I feel” tied to the message about memories, after you lose someone, you’ll catch a hint of a scent that you associated with them and it’s like you feel the initial grief all over again. I love this song, but it still, even after all this time, brings tears.

This song means so much to me, even if the actual meaning might be different than I see it. When I first heard this song, I burst out crying when Namjoon mentioned the glasses and I didn't even realize why until I sat down and try to gather my feelings about this song. I realized that all that came to my mind when I read the lyrics was my grandmother who passed away years ago. She used to have this glass set my brother and I would play with whenever we visited her. And since the beginning of the song strongly reminded me of the feeling of trying to recall someone who has passed, the glasses just solidified this connection in my head.

To me personally, the song is about loss deeper than just a break-up. The way they talk about leaving things just as they were, now collecting dust- like you often do when someone passes away and you're not ready to let that go. But even over time, you can't change that things fade because they're not in your life anymore. The little details fade away no matter how hard you cling to them. I think, like Spring Day and Winter Bear, this songs always hits home because I relate to that loss. But obviously everyone's interpretations of art is based in their own emotions and experiences.

i agree with what you said about the rap line. BTS is truly masters when it comes to blending rap and vocals and still keep it one song. in other groups when the rap comes it´s like a totally diffrent song and beat and the more rappers they have the most swifts there will be. and it´s really confusing to me as a listener. it´s really hard to vibe to a song when it keeps changing. BTS always blend and ajust to the song they dont care about themself, they care about how the song. RM talked about it many times. he lets the song guide him and all rappers is creating songs so they know what will ruin a song or highlight it. they are working as a group adding or removing certain parts. they dont change the song just because it needs to have a rap verse with the traditional rappers sound. they chance their own rap and often sing rap instead. so every song is so different. they can do almost every genre. they also did this amazingly in louder than bomb butterfly and spring day. RM said he felt conflicted at first because he didn´t know of butterfly could even have rap in it. butterfly has a vocal line version only and also a joined version. they wanted to perform it together so they wrote raps for it after. and it just feels so natural to the song. i really love that they keep the song in the same tone without ruin the flow. if you want to hear the vocal line version only they performed it at the busan concert

I’m so glad you listened to this so soon! It truly is one of my favorite songs by them. I have my master’s in music education (instrumental), and your descriptions of their voices and timbre were brilliantly put. Also, it’s stunning how the lyrics can be interpreted in so many different ways. Like I said in a previous video, this song in particular helped me to grieve my grandparents’ deaths, but it could be applied to other situations just as easily. I think that’s the beauty of their writing - it paints emotions so vividly yet allows for the listener’s own interpretation. True artistry! EDIT: clarification

So glad you are slowly starting to see what we all know - how truly versatile they all are, including the rapline. They dont always sound the same, both the rapline and vocal line change up their voices and style to suit each song and performance. 100 percent agree with your comments about their vocal colour and how their voices harmonise and blend so beautifully together but also standout. I just love how much emotion and feeling they put into everything - even a lyric as simple as a 'la la la la'. 😊Film Out is a beautiful but sad song. For me Jins vocals always stand out in their Japanese songs. This is another song of theirs where I don't necessarily or automatically translate it as about a romantic relationship. For me I interpret it about grief and missing someone who is gone - this is what the lyrics convey to me when they talk about photographs. One of the great things about a lot of their songs, they are not explicit in their meaning and are often genderless so can be interpreted in many ways.

RM's poetic lyricism is just amazing. And BTS can have swag and bravado, but it's always intentional, and it's not forced. It's their own lyrics, stories, and feelings. So I can't see how it could be forced. Even if it wasn't their own lyrics, they have to resonate with the message, and vibe with it, in order to do the song. I don't think I've heard a song or seen a performance where it feels like they are forcing it. they are the most genuine artists I've ever seen.

I think you will like their Japanese song Your Eyes Tell. The vocals including rap line is 👌 I will give you the link to the live performance. Actually, my favorite Japanese song of theirs is Let Go. Like I love it so much and the choreo complements it well too. Crystal Snow is another really great one. I love most of their Japanese songs.

Your Eyes Tell is another great one. Can you also react to JungKook as the Main Vocalist of BTS by Ida S. please. Since he wrote this with a Japanese artist, I'm pretty sure he wrote all those beautiful harmonies, and he does many of the vocal guides for the group that the others learn their parts from. That may be changing since they are doing solo works now, so I don't know what BTS 2025 and beyond will look like as far as their roles and such. Time will tell. In the meantime, I continue to enjoy their past and current music! I'm glad you seem to be as well!

One of the best reactions I’ve seen. Your knowledge and insights into performance, with a growing understanding of K-Pop specifically, are so wide-ranging. I know you’re probably hesitant about doing much critiquing, which is tricky with fandoms involved. Glad I subscribed- more of this please. The nostalgia factor with the la la las reminds me of a Beatles-style song, but I’m not well-versed enough in their work to know for sure.

It dies get tricky from time to time because sometimes I do have things that I would like to critique but it doesn't take away from the group. I am finding a balance with that as well. I think the wide range just comes from Metal, it's so common with metal that you have to know just about everything there is to be seen as a metalhead so. I guess it's inherent haha

LOVE your reactions but kinda wish youd react to the studio versions first before the live versions cause sometimes the lives hit better sometimes the sound isnt good and the studio hits better example for ugh i feel like you wouldve enjoyed that performance more if you knew the song already from the studio version. we dont mind long videos if you wanna react to both the studio audio/lyrics and the live in one video or even multiple videos on the same songs its just better imo to hear the original song first so you know what it sounds like going into the live performance. especially on music shows,tv shows, some concerts if theyre recorded for dvds when these shows try to mute the crowd it takes away some of the performance like the vocals sound off or muted sometimes cause they tried to remove the crowd sounds (not in this video but in some live performances) sometimes fan cams by actual fan phones sound better than official recordings too. it all depends and sometimes the video you may choose for live isnt the best quality performance out there cause unlike most kpop artists bts allow themselves to mess up and make mistakes and use that to better themselves instead of lip synching and pretending theyre perfect.

@@Killdeer25 yeah, their solo staff is really interesting and diverse as well! I especially like Agust D's first and second mixtapes (Agust D and D-2), they are fire 🔥. All of them also have some solo songs in bts's albums, but from the autumn of the last year they are finally gave us "proper" albums under their names: RM's Indigo (I _really_ recommend you to listen to it even just by yourself, while thoroughly reading the lyrics - I have found a lot of wonderful stuff in this album, especially I'm in awe of the song "Yun", it's truly a masterpiece. ), Jimin's "Face"(about his emotions during pandemic, you'll definitely feel it deeply if you struggled with some depressive episodes, loneliness, not so good relationships with people, etc), Agust D's "D-Day" (oh, it's so epic. I hope you'll react to some of the videos from his recent tour, the energy was just insane!), V is dropping his album "Layover" next month, and JK should drop his mini album soon too. Also, there's J-Hope's "Jake in the box" (I really enjoyed the style of it, it somehow reminds me of Asian 90's hip hop) and Jin's song "Astronaut" which he performed with Coldplay... this is getting long, sorry, I'm just really excited about them, I'mma stop here. And, oh, "Joke" is awesome! though you should remember that it's not about deep lyrics, it's _fully_ about mocking his haters. and dear skies, he mocked them so creatively and cleverly - I really hope you'll find good translation, it's really impressive.

indeed! I hope you liked your eyes tell if you saw it, also I will get to crystal snow for sure! so the way you can tell is by the chords that are being played, a lot of times you get it from either the piano or the violins, so this song was written in B Sharp Major if I remember correctly, so after that you'll know that they will have to either play a scale or a chord progression. since most piano or synths will play chords while everything else is going on you will be able to tell. the new song from V Slow Dancing is very good with that
