In the chorus "you're my tear" is repeated twice, first by Namjoon and then by Yoongi, and then Hobi sings "you're my fear". First off all if you notice this is the order in which they rap their solo verses. So if you go and read their individual lyrics properly, you will notice how Joon is rapping about 'tear' aka crying because of heartbreak, Yoongi is talking about 'tear' as in tearing your heart apart and Hobi is talking about his fear of their breakup. So they each take up the 'tear' 'tear' and 'fear' part and the chorus represents it. Also y'all have no idea just how you are missing the bigger picture of BTS' music/albums since you are just new. Yes this song is about their disbandment but in the story arc of love yourself it was about when the writer finally reaches their breaking point and decides to finally end their relationship and is going through intense heartbreak. They actually hid a third meaning of tear in the song: Suga says T.E.A.R. which is a coping mechanism for loss: T- To accept the reality of the loss E- Experience the pain of the loss A - Adjust to the new environment without the lost person R- Reinvest in the new reality

Can you imagine how much inner strength they needed to go on stage to perform Tear considering what the context behind the song was? ARMY used to headbang along but once we found out that it was written when the boys were really struggling and thought about disbanding makes this song hit hard. Now we're crying while headbanging but BTS are sneaky like that - they'll give us hype as hell sounding songs with emotionally deep and sometimes painfully beautiful lyrics. These men are artists in every sense of the word. Edit: Tear also talks about the 4 stages of grief; T = To accept the reality. E = Experience the pain. A = Adjust to the new environment. R = Reinvest in the new reality.

This was a diffucult time for them as they talked about disbanding due to all the pressure and not enough rest pressure physically and mentally. So it's not about a romantic break up but about them as group of not just artists but friends and brothers. But this pouring out of emotions had them all crying and deciding they couldn't disband.

This song is one of my all time faves for BTS. Period. With all of its emotion and energy... the lyrics, the flows, the intensity. The sadness knowing how it came to be... imagining them in that room when they all sat around and Yoongi brought it to them. The wholeness in my heart knowing they chose to stay with us. Even before I knew all of that, the song by itself was enough.

Suga wrote and composed this song, and all the members cried when they listened to it. They have a lot of songs where they express their negative emotions, sorrows and hatreds, it’s just that the army did not recommend you the right ones. The sheer passion the rapline when performing this live. FYI they didn’t tell us what this song was about for a long time and it broke the fandoms heart when we found out. However I also credit this song with being part of helping them decide to stay together through the pain. Great observation they do show us all emotions not just positive and encouraging ones but a lot of intense feelings. A moment of respect for custom Dior JHope which is still a fashion cultural moment, not that RM and Suga don’t look good but JHope was perfection in this. Yes, BTS explore a variety of emotions in their songs. This song is from the album "Love Yourself: Tear", which talk about love gone wrong, so it has songs like Singularity, Fake Love, Truth Untold, 134340. The album "Map of the Soul: 7" also has a section about Shadow, the part of the soul that deals with negative thoughts and feelings (Interlude: Shadow, Black Swan). The pandemic album "BE" has the most beautiful song about depression called "Blue & Grey". And of course their diss tracks, mostly by the rapline, are almost always aggressive. I can go on and on about other themes and emotions that they explore in their songs, but I'll stop here for now. Their solo work gets even more personal. I hope you'll explore these in the near future because these are masterpieces in their own right.

Just FYI, most BTS songs starting from 2016 onwards til now may feel like they are talking about romantic love but it is NOT.... ever since they are done with their schoolboy love era in 2014-2015, BTS has written so many songs about ARMYs, their friends/family, and even to themselves and to the other BTS members (just like this song they are rapping to one another about disbandment). Please keep in mind that when the lyrics may sound like they are talking about romantic love, it is most likely talking about their fans, their friends, and/or talking to themselves (like the song Fake Love they are talking about having fake love to themselves by being someone they are not, even thou the lyrics may sounds like a romantic love)

You must listen to the album version of this song. I love this live performance but the audio is unclear - there's some echo-ing going on that's distracting, IMO. The instrumentals on this track are awesome and need to be heard clearly. That said, their energy on-stage is so captivating, as usual. And I completely agree with your thoughts at the end - that's exactly what makes BTS so great (and so successful): they put everything out there. The happy, bright and shiny and also the raw, honest, darker, deeper, more infuriating or devastating emotions, too. Especially the rappers, because that's what rap (at its core) is meant to express. This song is one of my favorites now, even though it was one of the last ones I listened to because I never liked or listened to rap before BTS. I've seen lots of people say that. One of my favorite things about BTS is when they channel chaotic emotions into cathartic music. It's a creative expression for them and also a therapeutic release (for listeners too). 😌

Hi Aaron 🙂I enjoyed your reaction. And no I dont think it's weird to love angry songs I think its human. People that don't know BTS seem to think they just do happy positive songs but ARMY know different. 💜 The thing that's so good about the songs and lyrics is that the emotion is real and songs are meaningful no matter what emotion they have. I love Outro: Tear though it can get me emotional. This was their iconic performance at Wembley Stadium. Im not sure if you took this link from my list but regardless I did suggest this particular video. I wanted to clarify why, in case you are wondering why I didnt suggest one from Enjoy BTS More channel, which I do as often as I can. Sometimes i might personally recommend a video from elsewhere as there are some cases where she does not unfortunately have a particular performance of the song which I prefer. In this case I wanted you to experience this version as I personally feel this is the best one and find it really atmospheric and I think it had good subtitle translation. Enjoy BTS more actually has 2 other different performances of Outro: Tear on her channel. I want to highly recommend you watch the following one (i kind of wish id shared it instead, but like i said I love the wembley performance). In this video of hers she has added a clip of RM and then Suga talking about the song and what it is about after the song which is really intrresting to watch. As others have explained the song was written for the members and is a song about a potential disbandment of BTS that they were considering at the time it was written (not a romantic relationship breakup). Note this meaning wasn't explained to ARMY at the time of release in 2018 but about a year or or more later in their documentary series Break the Silence. They are all great but I love jhopes end verse and the way he performs it, its so powerful and he is so emotional, not just anger but seems to the point of tears. Also definetly give the studio recording a listen if you havnt, it sounds amazing! kzitem.info/news/bejne/0Ienr2Zjm2Zpem0si=64cnaZoeWsWGg0I5
