Warning if you play guitar and listen to buckethead side effects may include; a desire to be better, depression realizing you can't be on his level, staring at your guitar in sadness, trying to emulate buckethead, wishing you were better, and listening to more buckethead to motivate you to get better at guitar. symptoms may repeat.

When I was 22 my girlfriend took me to see Buckethead live at The Catalyst In Santa Cruz, CA. Never heard of the guy, and I've never been into live music and concerts. She was into all kinds of music, I had no idea what to expect. "Mesmerized" is an understatement. I'm pretty sure I stood there the whole time with my jaw dropped and trying not to blink. Just this overwhelmed expression of "No fucking way. Holy shit. What the fuck? No. There's no way." I wanted every photon of what I was witnessing to bury itself deep into my optic nerve. I'm pretty sure I had to forget how to do like 9 things in order to make room in my brain to soak it all in. One of the best nights of my life.

I'm 31 years old. Listened to a lot of damn good guitar music in my life, from Zeppelin to Khruangbin and many places in between, but this song is just an absolute masterpiece from beginning to end. It truly belongs in a historical music vault to be preserved as one of the best examples of mastery of not just playing an instrument, but using that instrument to express and evoke emotion through music. The pacing and composition of this song is exquisitely crafted and the guitar phrasing is so masterfully written. It's gripping and enthralling, but gentle and melancholy at the same time. Count yourself blessed to have heard some of the greatest moments of sound created by humans.

I mean, of course the guitar takes the spotlight, but can we show some love to the rest of this track's production? The drums, if programmed, are programmed *very* well, and the Wurly in the back with the left-to-right panning is just gorgeous. The song slots together like a sad, jazzy, bluesy, Pink Floyd-esque puzzle.

Ok Brian yes. So I just watched the interview with his therapist. It's truly mind blowing to listen to him speak and try to explain things. Brian is trying so so hard, bless and help this genius universe please!!!!! Anyways it's crucial to listen to him in that because now I can understand his music better, ohh don't worry I have like 80 of his solo cds and like 60 project cds. He is Extremely shy and the kindest old innocent childlike soul, he constantly afraid of things such as, what people think of him, judging, or what his audience thinks after each song, etc etc. Anxiety and the like. The mask is not a gimmick, it is his coping mechanism. The eye holes are even screened over so he barely sees anyone(he says they all just look like ghosts). He does not want to see crowd or individual reaction. His therapist in the interview even goes over the Dusting technique he taught Brian and he uses it constantly to cope. Brian is probably one of the most intense cases of these mind things, that many have, so it is virtually miraculous he performs. He is trying to work things out so hard. He is sad because both his parents have passed, he stated his parents used to love to hear him play, so when he makes music he feels like they are with him etc. He communicates with music. This explains his practice discipline like no other guitarist. Brian said.... "I have a long way to go". (His guitaring). He said in the interview he had a great childhood etc and never mentioned any abuse etc, just his parents and his heart issues and his back problems(posture from being tall and an introvert, so all his life hunched over to not be, recognized/seen". He is a person that worries, is afraid, does no drugs or booze. In this song I can now feel him correctly and understand why he pours so much into his work, it's his mouth. Watch the interview fans, stop calling him Buckethead, it's not a funny thing. He is Brian. ❤❤❤❤

There is no other Guitarist, or other Musician for that matter that comes remotely close to this brilliance. Buckethead is on a Level that we will never ever get to experience from anyone else ever again. Enjoy him while your here.

This guy is, after my opinion, the best guitarist living. You can't even put words on how amazing he is.

I once made a kill-switch button from splicing my amp cord and attaching a certain wire to a grill ignitor button which I put inside of a black box and stuck to my guitar's pick-guard with double sided tape and I learned it all from a tutorial online lol :D

Only 1.3 million views after 14 years? Considering the sublime and transcendent beauty shimmering from every note of this masterpiece, that doesn't seem like a lot. The guitar mastery is one thing, but the intense emotionality is on a whole other level. The goal of these musicians is clear. They are trying to reach you on the deepest levels of your heart and soul. A BIG shout out to the OTHER players! This is definitely a GROUP effort. And how many drummers could keep up like that! Too Many Humans is a great title, but to me this is the Requiem for Humanity.

buckethead said this to me back in 2007 when i saw him in concert. I asked him for any words of wisdom and he said this "there are lots of ways to getting to the top, everyone there had their own way of getting there, I got there by being so weird every one had to see me. But the best way to be rembered is to be kind." That has stuck with me and always will... i posted this here caz this is my Fav Buckethead song, here his guitar realy sings... hope this quote sticks with u

Me and my buddy Jack used to put this on in the pizza shop we worked in and we'd both sing along with the guitar, because we knew every note, every phrase. Pretty silly moments because neither of us could hit the really high notes, but we'd try, and we'd make faces at each other. We got caught in the moment by customers more than once. Good times.
