Absolutely brilliant. In my opinion a flywheel device is unbeatable for realistic running with real locomotives (that’s what I call live steam). It would only be detectable to those with insider knowledge. The track and train and locomotive are all perfect Well done.

SSP Solomon in the tank wagon, so cheating a bit.

Thought it might be a slomo. Not cheating, but enhancing! Sadly, I note that SSP is no longer producing new ones @@NHMFR

Afternoon, That is really really nice, I like the setting and camera angles make it feel very real and its nice to see some slow speed running, and sound, and it adds a 'gentleness' to railway operations. Very nice indeed

Now if you filmed this in black and white. And slightly adjust one or two angles on some shots you would think this really a narrow gauge line back in the days some were. Cracking clip throw.

It is powered via a DCC sound decoder loaded with a Simplex sound project. The decoder is run via an RC receiver

How do you get that kinda sound and running from live steam?

Loco is fitted with a Summerlands Chuffer on the exhaust, and the tank wagon contains a "Slomo" (currently unavailable I think, but shortly to be produced by wilsonlocomotives.com.au)

Lovely video I F. May I ask what the track is laid on please?
@NHMFR
Жыл бұрын
The track (Peco) was originally laid on horticultural grit, and I use some for fetling the track from time to time. More recently I've tipped wood ash from the fire in the winter on the track, so it is mostly ash ballast now.

@@NHMFR thank you. Is it all just laid on top of the soil or in a trench first? Cheers, Ben.

What is the manufacturer of these tipper?

The smaller ones at the rear of the train are from Slaters WD 3/4 cu yard kits, one in the middle is a mixture of bits from three kits, and the Koppel type skips at the front were manufactured by Accucraft for the Train Department in the US. Only the Slaters kits are currently available.
