The drums, the guitars, the whole recording in perfect stereo sound. Uploaded 65 years after 'the day the music died'. Perfect. Thank you Pat.

Somehow this is the "daddy", or possibly the grandad, of 60s and 70s rock and pop. I'd not really appreciated just how good it could sound - another triumph Pat, thank you for a great remix of a classic.

Writer credits are a bit confusing on this one; Holly originally called it Cindy Lou after his niece (so you think he must have been a co-writer), Petty could just be adding his name which was pretty common, and another story says Allison insisted on adding Holly’s name after his death. On Coral, Buddy Holly’s name only appeared, but on Brunswick it was as the Crickets. Both labels were owned by Decca. Still has a magic for me despite hearing it since 1959 (why I bought Sheila by Tommy Roe as soon as I heard it. Copycat or tribute but still good). Named after Allison’s girlfriend, then wife, but they divorced after nine years. Such a resounding remix and especially with Allison’s drumming. Also love the sequel ‘Peggy Sue got Married’ written by Holly as one of the six Apartment tapes in New York after splitting with the Crickets who got to retain the name. Love this Pat. Many thanks for the pleasure this will give.

🎧 Thou didst trick me into thinking a new one wouldn't be arriving so soon. I have a friend who is crazy about the paradiddles on the drums and I wouldn't even know that word if it wasn't for him. I liked when the guitar came in. Thank you, Pat.

I have made the point before, but it is worth repeating... When adding additional instruments to a classic recording, it a kind of cheat. No, it's not a crime, but it would be best if you fess up to it. In other words, this is a doctored recording, not simply a skillful remix. The original classic has zero acoustic guitar.

Just to remind you of some information on my home page: The dictionary definition of the term remix is: "A variant of an original recording (as of a song) made by rearranging or adding to the original" And a definition of enhanced is : "Sound effects added to enhance the action or bring a fuller meaning or experience" No attempt to hide what I'm doing to these recordings. Most people love the end result. And that's all that matters to me.

Hi. Interesting response. From the reviews you get, it's obvious you have many fans. That is not in dispute. I am making the point that not all of them are musically astute when it comes to adding and doctoring classic original recordings. I'm sure you would retain the majority of your followers even if a full roster of additions you have added was listed in the info below the video window. I also believe there would be some who are less enthusiastic. Regarding the dictionary, I'm curious to know what publisher. In the recording industry generally, remixing usually refers to an altering of the original elements of the recording. When new elements are added, the traditional term is "overdubbing", sadly. some on youtube refer to it as "enhancement" which seems like a conceited point of view.@@radiowollaton8521

@@rogerkellingray8443Yes, I think most informed Holly fans know that. Some early reviewers and fans thought the sound of Buddy's pick on the strings was made by an actual cricket. I'm not sure what your comment has to do with my dislike for new instruments being added to genuine Holly classics. To me it always seems like an ego trip and does nothing to improve upon the original hit as it was produced in 1957.
