Hello Tim, thank you for this fine review. About 9 months ago I purchased a pair of Lowa Renegade lace up boots at an REI garage sale. The purchase price was $28. The original price was $160. I am seriously considering a pair of rubberized boots. There is a lot of snow melt here in Northern California and as a the lake shore lines and the stream banks are quite muddy. Trout season has already begun and I prefer not to muddy up the Lowa boots. Keep up the great reviews. 🤗

I bought a pair of Hisea boots, different model but basically the same boot. Took me a month, but I finally wore them 4 days and nights camping at a normal campground. Very comfortable, got my normal size and the fit was fine. Problem is, after just stomping around a campsite, not trekking thru woods, one started to split at the sole/upper. They're going back. Every brand I've looked in this style has multiple reviews that say "not waterproof" or "falling apart" including Mucks, Rockys, Irish Setters, etc. I don't know what to buy anymore

Last winter my rubber boots got pulled off my feet by a mud pit. Those boots have torn at the heel after 10 years, so I'm in the market for a reasonably priced pair of boots to use on my property, or for a quick walk to the river for fishing.

Are they insulated? I am actually in the market for a new pair for archery season, considering my old Lacrosse have been officially retired since spring gobbler season. My go to boots for hunting are Merrell Moab Tactical boots during rifle season, mostly because where I hunt I hike in probably about 3-4 miles from my base camp. I had a pair of Lowa's I bought from Cabela's, and they were really nice boots, but a little too heavy for me. The Merrell boots feel like my normal hiking shoes(moab 2 lows) which are super comfortable. When I go fishing I usually wear a pair of XtraTuff boots, mostly because I am a big fly fisherman and I will take them off at the truck and put on my wading boots. For wading and fishing I wear Simms waders, simply because I've tried numerous companies and most of them hardly handle a year. For duck hunting, turkey hunting, and general work around the house I used to wear Lacrosse rubber boots, but I had to retire them this year because I found a leak in the sole when I went to cross a creek to get to my blind at 4am, not a fun day trying to be stealth with wishy washy socks lol

I don't think I would call them insulated. I mean they are similar to my Mucks and though the Mucks are supposed to be good below 0, I wouldn't use them in cold weather.

Bought two pair of these and they are junk. Both split at the sole from side to side after 6 mos. So that is why they are cheaper, and not a deal at all.

I’ve tried various brands of this style of boot. I use them primarily for hunting in the Northeast, and nobody should expect them to last many years. I consider 2 years average and 3 years exceptional. The ones that I’ve had the best luck with are the Bogs Classic High. They seem to last longer than Muck, and lighter than my Lacrosse Alpha Burly. If these HISEA lasted 2 years at $55 then they are well worth it.

Can you fold the top of the over and shorten the overall height? Thanks for the video
