Anything vegan makes me happy. I'm looking forward to a vegan world. I think this will be a possibility In Our Lifetime and we will witness it. I heard parts of China already banned eating dogs and cats for food. Hopefully this becomes a trendy situation throughout the country another countries. If you are vegan, I love you and thank you for caring. Cheers from Miami :-)

Have been on a vegan journey for my whole life basically as my mom was vegetarian. So somehow I didn't eat much meat until I was 11 then went ham. Pretty sure I wasn't alive through most of my 20's so not sure what I was eating possible just evaporated coffee and human brains. Exploring veganism through veguide challenges. So far I like how it feels although mentally there are walls and then it's back to candied bacon donuts.

If you guys struggle too much with carrying things and you wanna get a lot of food and don't live that far, sometimes my mom and I bring our cart with us. The people from the closest local supermarket we go to use plastic bags for the stuff, but you can use your reusable bags and tie them all up to make sure they don't fall out and for extra protection, you can use a big laundry bag to put em all in. :) Just had the idea right now.

My favorite apple is the Jonagold. They are tart and sweet at the same time and are really juicy. When I buy tortillas, especially if I get a large count bag or multiple bags from being on sale, I separate them by putting wax paper between serving portions before freezing them. That way I can take out just the amount I need for a meal. And even if I forgot to take some out before hand I can take some out right before I start cooking because they will defrost quickly.
@CheapLazyVegan

@@CheapLazyVegan I don't think they're available until May, that's usually when I find them for the first time of their season. Which is from May to October. When I lived with my sister I would have to threaten death and dismemberment if anyone ate one, lol. I would get a few and tuck them away in the fruit drawer and hope my nephew wouldn't find them. Nothing was more disappointing than going to get that delicious treat than to discover it was gone. But now that I live on my own I don't have to worry about it. That's why I started separating the tortillas. I could find a 2 or 3 dozen count pack of the soft taco size, or sometimes find them on sale. At my sister's there was always tortillas on hand so I didn't have to worry about them possibly getting moldy. But on my own I do. So I separate them and put them in a gallon size Ziploc freezer bag. Take out 2 the night before for breakfast wraps/burritos, or 2 in the morning for lunch or dinner.

Something about colder temperatures can cause acrylomide (cancer causing chemical) in potatoes. I don't personally refrigerate mine until after I cook them, but I go through them very quickly (I consume 10 lbs in a week). I too am lazy, so I buy bags of white potatoes and steam them in my instant pot and refrigerate them for already prepped potatoes whenever I want one. Also, they're great for quick fries.

I loved seeing your grocery haul! Please do more. About the potatoes, I recommend keeping them in a cool, dark place (such as under the kitchen sink). Make sure to keep them away from onions, which will cause the potatoes to sprout more quickly. The regular potatoes will sprout eventually but sweet potatoes tend to last longer. Some farmers I talked to at the farmer's market said that you can store sweet potatoes for months. Their harvest was in the fall, but they were selling sweet potatoes at the market as late as June.
