Personally I think Magic Aids video with pelt collector is amazing, he runs Vexing Devil zoo so turn one pelt and then you play a two power card turn two, followed by a Vexing devil which if they let die gives you a 4/4 pelt collector. It's a really good deck, he did a typical Naya zoo varient and a jund varient with deaths shadow. Check out his channel Either way the non budget pelt collector also looks really cool, and I really want to see more games of whatever deck with this card.
@billable1861
6 жыл бұрын
Master Kipper I actually liked the zoo version of his better. What are your thoughts between the two?
@MstrKipper
6 жыл бұрын
@@billable1861 I would say Naya just because it felt more like a direct improvement to a Naya zoo deck as opposed to a modification to a deaths shadow deck. I understand the low life but I felt the core of the Naya made a lot of sense
@billable1861
6 жыл бұрын
Master Kipper I agree. The deaths shadow deck is a little susceptible to fast aggro anyways. I feel like the adaptation while interesting made it more susceptible to removal and counter magic. With zoo you’re at least growing threats and if they stuff a vexing devil you can still grow the pelt collector beyond a 1/1. The worst part of pelt collector is clunky hands and draws leaving them as 1/1’s. Maximizing creature count helps reduce that vulnerability.
@MstrKipper
6 жыл бұрын
@@billable1861 yeah I would agree with that. I think trying to mix the but of control with zoo makes it more I consistent in general. However I did like the rakdos burn deck he made a bit back, so maybe utilizing that core as opposed to the deaths shadow could work as well

Why is everyone comparing Magic Aids' deck to this one? They're both aggro decks featuring Pelt Collector, sure, but both use entirely different shells. Comparing the two together is like comparing Bant Spirits with Humans because both use Noble Hierarch. Also, this is a budget brew. Temur Evolve decks have 5-0'd Leagues in the past, and could very well accommodate for Vexing Devil. But doing so would require hundreds of dollars in fetches and shocks. Comparing this deck to a non-budget brew like Aids' deck isn't entirely fair in that regard either.

Dropping a vexing devil with a ton of evolve creatures makes for a really tough decision for your opponent. Same if you've got out Pelt collector. Turn 1 land and Pelt turn 2 land Pelt and vexing devil is either: you having 2 3/3 on turn 2 and them eating 4 to the face or you having 2 2/2s and a 4/3... @borisbiondi7990
6 жыл бұрын
+slowguitarman that's not true. "die" literally means "put into the graveyard from the battlefield". It is a recent wording that has been adopted to avoid confusion in card texts, and it has replaced the old "put into graveyard from play" instance. So, to answer the question, there's no difference, the words have just changed over time. Also, when something gets exiled it doesn't go to the graveyard, so it doesn't technically die and "dies" triggers don't trigger. triggers that trigger when a card is put into the graveyard from anywhere else are generally specified in its text.

Didn’t you play a Pongify Evolve deck just in the last year? Also I’m not sure that infect is THAT good of a matchup. I mean sure snag and pongify are good against infect but only if you draw well and/or your opponent is inexperienced or gets greedy. The 8 vines effects means it basically boils down 30/70 skill/draw. Like if you just draw one pongify and they draw two Vines you’re just dead if they are even remotely experienced. Infect is one of the weirdest decks to play against. While trying to prevent the damage makes sense, if the infect player has mana available it's easy to just lose since they can respond to the removal spell with something like Vine of Vastwood that pumps and protects the creature. If we leave up our removal and they go for the kill we can then use our removal safely, otherwise it's often best to try to make them waste their protection spell when they can't deal damage.
