So initially I had a straight simic build of the deck that used Jin as the finisher. While I got people with Jin a few times I didn't actually win with it very much so I kept brewing, ended up in Bant and with Jin cut.

Seven cards is normally enough. And with three colors, your untapped lands really need to add colored mana for the early turns. I'd say it's a bad inclusion, but that's just my opinion

Alchemist’s Refuge would only help out in situations where you’re already ahead. Besides, the deck has mana issues as-is.

I think Mystic Snake > Frilled Mystic. GGUU is a pretty steep cost in a three-color deck, and you only get 1 extra power.

@@WheelDragon Never underestimated the good ol' Ambush Viper play. Using Snapcaster as an Ambush Viper in a pinch actually won me plenty of games by killing a Liliana of the Veil, going for lethal etc.

26 lands out of 61 is less than 26 lands out of a 60 cards deck. That helped you in getting mana screwed. Also, it's decks like this that remind me of how talented Seth's at brewing... This deck is really sweet. I'm curious by how competitive the non-budget version of the deck would be.

Keeping your best 7 is usually enough to win the game. All Tower does is potentially mana screw you, especially considering you have a frilled mystics. It's really a win more card in this instance, but I guess the opportunity cost isn't that significant.

Definitely possible, but also the deck doesn't really mind discarding since primal command means you can't deck yourself and you can shuffle anything back that you need. While it would be nice, the deck is somewhat mana intensive, having 3 colors with lots of double green/double white/double blue, so having that reliquary tower early in the game could suck. Even with the downsides it might still be worth it as a one-of. Who knows.

Should have been letting the final Reclamation trigger resolve before firing off the Rev or Secure. Allows you to hold up "all" your mana for interaction.

@@MTGGoldfish would replacing the yavmaya coasts with breeding pools (and i have some windswept heaths i can use to fetch) be good? I dont have breeding pools but can pick up a playset, but before i drop the $40 for a playset i realized that with picking up lands maybe thats not the best? Or would you replace the bounce lands with shock lands (breeding pool, temple garden, etc.) and not yavmaya coast.

Love the deck, bant colors are best. Would you consider making a budget knightfall deck? I love how effective the budget lands were in this deck, and I feel like knight of the reliquary also provides some opportunity for budget lands to shine. Been working on my own brews, but I have nowhere near the knowledge base that you do!

Hi Seth, this was one of the most surprising and interersting strategies for your budget magic series. Very powerful synergies. With that much mana I was thinking of a few colorless cards like Karn, Ulamog or other big stuff. Would you like to run it back in the non-budget version ?

This is a pretty cool build. I'd like to see the less budget version. Not that it ended up mattering but in game 3 vs temur you probably wanted to growth spiral on your own turn when looking for land because if you find a bounceland you can still make your land drop for the turn after its etb.

Played a few matches with the upgraded version, and I think cutting Sakura-Tribe Elder makes casting mystic consistently a lot harder, I ended up putting them back in and the deck feels a lot better.

The janky part of me wants to put a kruphix into this deck as both another way to ramp up mana at the end step and a way to counteract overdrawing with rev. I'd definitely also slam a blue sun's zenith as a win con in the kruphix version of the deck. With cards like mystic it would also be rather easy to start beating down with kruphix.

Just checked the budget for the non-budget build as well. It’s also pretty cheap in comparison to other decks in modern as well. And you get modern staples like path and other fetches as well

Yeah, the main cost of the non-budget build is Misty Rainforest. Apart from that it's maybe $500.

So I’m going to try this deck with two expansion/explosions and only one rev. Might as well skip a step and blast the opponent in the face while drawing a million cards. Seems like with a single mountain or red shockland you can pretty much cast it anyway considering the wilderness rec If it goes well I’ll let you know

I’m surprised that you missed the fact that you can shuffle your own graveyard in with Primal Command. That’s a built in way to save yourself from milling out with huge Revs.

I feel like it's a bit of a no-brainer to have Field of Ruins. Omit maybe a bounceland or two and a couple fair cards and it should fit like a glove. I think Explore's the odd man out in this deck but I could be wrong.
