65 is pretty Slack! I guess we'll have to see what happens when he rides it, I could take the slackerizer bearing out and put a regular headset in there.

The intro and outro were amazing! It never occurred to measure the geo of the bike with part changes. I'm kind of wish I'd done this with the GT. I currently have a 64 degree head angle which is rubbish on the flat but the feeling of confidence it gives you on the downhills is crazy.

Glad you enjoyed it! Frame geometry is like that! If it's good in one situation it's sometimes not as good in another situation!

65° is a good angle for all around trail riding, it's a comfortable angle for mostly flat terrain, doesn't really make climbing any more difficult than normal, and adds a little more stability going downhill. Although you should check the reach measurement, it's usually a good idea to run a 45mm-60mm stem instead of the standard 35mm-40mm stem. A higher bottom bracket affects cornering in a negative way but makes jumping awesome

I guess i never had anything that slack(65) ,so i wasnt really sure. I do have a couple different stems to try if it feels too close for him now. BMX stuff has high bottom brackets so i guess the jumping thing makes sense!

A lot of good info here! I would love to see some more in depth geometry vids. Just out of curiosity, I went out and measured my bike for BBD and I'm at 30mm👍

Thats pretty typical,i think your chainstays were pretty short too. Good basic frame, needs a slacker bearing though!

In your opinion os it better to have the smaller wheel in the back or front???? ...I used to run my bmx with a 16" front wheel and a 20" in yhe back . NoT a good idea

Never tred smaller wheel up front. The whole idea of the mountain bike mullet is to have the larger wheel up front so that it rolls over things easier, gives you more confidence, but the small wheel on the back so that the bike will turn really quick. That's the way I understand it anyway!
