George the 65k per month and 800k on deposit actually can be a combo so for, e.g., say $1500 month income is 18k x baht rate lets say 35 baht is 630k baht ergo you only need 170k baht on deposit so about US$4900...according to their website. The 800k or $23k can be deposited 2 months before renewal as stated from their website. Great video...frankly think $1500 is a good budget.

Yes $1500 is ok for many people it depends on spending habits. Probably best get advise from a visa specialist things change all the time with visas. I don’t want to give you wrong info mate. Thanks for watching🇹🇭👍

@@georgenewmaninthailand2495Hey George, I read it from the Thai Gov website...but as you say things change all the time. Alternatively, just do 90 day visa runs or bounce about 90 days here 30 days there...but you are spot on. Having lived as a PR in several western countries governments are always tweaking visas and find ways to milk you for fees much like banks with exchange rates.

I think $2,000 USD a month for a single guy that is not into bars, club, alcohol or girls is good enough to enjoy life to the fullest. I prefer travel and eating out or seeing a show.

I brought only my hand tools with me. One bag about 10 kg. I have now fixed things on my car, motorbike, push bike, house doors, electrical appliances, cookers the driveway gate. Probably more stuff I have forgotten. Best decision of my expat life bringing my little bag of tools. Try assembling that collection here. No way.

If you don’t golf, drink or have fun with bargirls, you can live cheaply. I do remember a quote “I spent 90% of my money on drugs and fast women and wasted the rest of it”

I buy my phones off Amazon you can get a reconditioned iPhone 12 for under 300 dollars I’ve done it a couple times over the years they are excellent value and virtually brand new not sure why anyone would dump $1,400.00 dollars 🤷

i noticed more retirees are using visa agents, for their visa and leave their 800k baht in their own bank a/c back home

So, they wouldn’t want me there, living on a UK state pension of tbt40000 even though I’m not a drinker and like cooking my own meals, in other words I live very simply.

the easiest way is to deposit £18,000 into a Thai bank account. The money still belongs to you and it's always a good idea to have an "emergency fund" no matter where you live.
