Those horses are trained to stand quietly in every sort of situation, like most horses should and listen to their handlers. I think the one laying down was literally waiting for the handler to tell him to get up. The handlers did a great job staying calm and keeping their horses calm.

I feel like a carriage adds more to a situation because the horse doesn't really have any way to run away when they have a carriage attached to them. So staying calm is definitely a necessity!

What a horrific thing to happen to such a wonderful team, but omgosh, I am literally speechless at how incredibly calm those horses were throughout the whole ordeal! They had complete faith in their handlers and acted as if everything was going to be alright without a problem! Superb training and well done to the staff for their quick actions. :D

Action starts at 3:45. Did the driver just turn too sharply? Also, the commentator deserves a raise for continuing to ramble on in the same tone all the way through the accident for the audience. Pro job!

Big horses with calm temperaments. Experienced and compassionate handlers who have bonded with their charges. A public announcer who understood enough about the situation and of human nature (referring to the jittery audience) to handle it, as it turned out, just right. Call it what you will, it is reassuring with its conclusion. Oh, and those of you who had such passionate remarks about our "cruelty" in being entertained by this and other animal shows - what in heaven's name were YOU doing watching this video?

And for people complaining about the commentator, it is his JOB to keep it light and happy and keep people from panicking. That's why he sounded so "ridiculous". What did you want him to do, talk about how the horses could be injured or explain what went wrong? He a commentator, he's supposed to sound cheesy.

These horses are amazing! It amazes me how these huge horses didnt panic but for a few seconds! Especially the one that stayed laying down the whole time! That just amazes me! I have never seen so many large and powerful animals working in perfect unison and being so calm in this situation with the noise of the crowd, the speaker, and the snapping of all that wood! This is amazing and I'm glad all of the horses walked away! Especially the one who was pinned for like 5 minutes!

One of the Budweiser Clydesdale teams is staying at the barn I board at and everything about the horses and the caretakers and staff that travel with them is so incredibly impressive. The horses are family to them and the staff is so proud to show them off. The horses are so carefully trained and this video is probably the greatest example of that. The horses are so calm throughout this whole ordeal- even the one on his knees and the one laying. They just waited and trusted that their people would do exactly what they did.

This was here in Abilene, Tx where we witnessed this. They come here annually and one of my favorite things to see at the rodeo. They did have a new horse on the team in training and he did a great job. The team just cut a little too sharp on that turn but those trainers did an amazing job with those horses and those horses showed their great training with this mishap. It's definitely worth seeing their full routine if you ever get the chance to.

Everything about his video is phenomenal. From the driver who had to cue the horses to stop and then sit there and feel so helpless while he held the wheelers back. The staff that comes out of the woodwork to care for their horses. The horses and their attitudes. The entire thing is spectacular. Thank you for sharing this event.

Amazing horses! Didn't struggle didn't panic just stayed still, one was even half way up half way down, and they just waited for people to move them. Never seen an accident like that where the horses didn't freak out. That one horse literally layed down under all that until he was told to get up. Amazing.

That is awesome how well they are al calm and ok. Normally if a horse falls and thinks it might be or or in danger it will freak its way up to run but they know the people are good, they are trained well and are ok. Even with the loud noise and lights, rolling horses and people they are collected and dont stray off their focus. Good people make good horses and good horses help people. Love this connection.

Very well trained horses. I don't think the arena is too small. One horse simply slipped and fell and knocked everyone down. My mare did that while running in the pasture the other day. Scared the daylights out of me. She just laid there for a minute, than sat up like a dog for a moment, and slowly got up to her feet. I think she was checking to make sure she wasn't injured before jumping back up. There are other horses that are bred to be "hot" and they would hurt themselves in such a situation.

The first thing you teach a horse is whoa. When in doubt, whoa. When you have an inexperienced rider with conflicting signals, whoa. When something startles you, plant your feet and whoa. It saves lives when they can trust their trainer and do their part by staying still until you can release them or do whatever is necessary. It goes without saying that Bud horses have some of the best trainers in the world and literally the "pick of the litter" to choose from.

Great horsemanship, love the guy on the box that immediately jumped down. New horses in a team tend to be in the middle the vets are in the lead and wheel positions. Even before I saw what happened, I could see the...restlessness? uneasiness? excitedness? in the horse 2nd row, on the right at 1:04. Then after watching the tumble carefully, I could see it was the same horse that threw his head again and fell first at 4:08. Just an observation. With a stunt like this every step, every animal has to be in tune. Maybe that horse should have called in sick.
