NorCal/S Or. here... I didn't even know Primm existed before I RV'd for a winter in LV back in '11/'12, and spent a couple nights there in and out. Didn't see the mall and the rides weren't running but I enjoyed the kitchy American Old West theming across the properties and loved walking the floors (shots of the 'tree bar' bring back memories!). And I'm pleased the B&C display is back from whatever tour its been on (didn't see if the wall of items Pete's had is back as well). Whenever I manage another trip out that way, definitely hoping they're back up in full swing. It's honestly a fantastic alternative/bonus to the "full meal" experience of Vegas. 😀

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City UT, and in 1995, my dad bought a condo in Oceanside, CA with the intent of it being a vacation rental and eventual retirement home. Every year in July from 1996 to 2003, my family would drive from Salt Lake to Oceanside on I15, and we would bring my cousin who was also my best friend, along with my 2 older brothers. We stayed at Primm every year on the way there. I have the most fond memories of the log flume with its shooting gallery, the awesome arcade, the turbo drop, and obviously the Desperado roller coaster. I'm 37 now and hope that one day Buffalo Bills will be restored to its former glory so others can experience what I remember. Thanks for the nostalgia.

I stopped here on Christmas Day to donate and help support their comeback. Ended up winning $60 instead. Used some of it to eat at the only food place that was open, the Wagon Wheel Grill. I wonder if they are planning to open the buffet. I will definitely return if they open the rides or the buffet! Also want to add that Primm is an ideal location for visiting Mojave National Preserve and you want traditional lodging without having to drive all the way back to Las Vegas.

Thank you for sharing this, my father had Parkinson's, Buffalo Bill's was the only casino that I would take him to he would say "the crab tables are close to the first floor rooms which made it so easy for him to walk there with his walker. He would pay crabs for hours he would win more than lose. They would call him and say you haven't been here in a couple of weeks if you come will pay for your gas to and from, all your meals, and comp you 2 to 3 rooms for the weekend. My girlfriend and I didnt get off work till 5pm Friday evening, so we would leave Pasadena CA around 8pm and stay Friday night at BB instead paying the higher prices at MGM for just a few hours. So BB became our overnight stay from 11:30pm Friday, than leaving for Vegas around 11am Saturday morning with only 40 minutes of drive time to Vegas. The best part was BB coffee shop before Denny's took it over. They had what was called The Truckers Special for Breakfast, for only $4,99 you got an actual bone-in ham steak that was so huge it needed it's own plate and it still hung over the side of the plate. Then you got 3 pancakes or 3 french toast, 3 eggs, hash browns, 3 sausages or 3 bacon, toast and coffee/juice or soda. It was the ultimate Ham & Egg breakfast all for a few bucks. This was every weekend from Spring Break (for us was in early April) to Labor Day, from 1996 to 1999. Those were carefree days compared to now...

First time I rode desperado was in about 1997-98. I used to go to Vegas a lot more in the 90s, every couple months. Id often drove by Buffalo Bills, never going in. Due to a sibling I used to be a roller coaster aficionado. Driving by and seeing Desperado I wrote it off as B-movie ride(no loops, from I-15 didnt seem high and tame). I finally on the spur of the moment got a friend of mine I worked with in show biz in LA to hit up Vegas one afternoon over beer. The sun had long gone down by the time we reached Buffalo Bills. My buddy had/has gambling issues i didnt know of. As soon as we crossed into Nevada he hit the tables at Buffalo Bills. Id probably would have had never stopped there in a million years. After he satisfied a quick fix at the tables he told me we were going on Desperado(he bought my ticket). It was only a couple years later I learned of its stats. I thought why not go on this rinky-dink tourist trap ride. Then the fucker rollercoaster took us outside up the long slow torturous ride to the top of the first drop. I remember looking in the distance at I-15 at night, we kept going higher, now looking WAY-DOWN on I-15. Ive ridden a lot of rollercoasters and been afraid. This was another type of afraid haha. Riding up I remember wondering how-in-the-fuck driving by this countless times I didnt think this was high. Then the first drop in the dark into a goddamn tunnel WTF. Then the G-Force speed of that rollercoaster…. It was only a couple years later I saw a documentary on roller coasters with Desperado being featured as the tallest in the world, it being next-level. And again wondered how driving by it countless times I wrote it off as not high and rinky-dink. Only once I got other (show biz and a doctor) friends to ride it in around 1999 [After that time i made a vow after walking under the tacks outside unsuccessfully looking for them to never again buy expensive sunglasses. Two friends sitting behind me saw the over-priced sunglasses rise in a flash out of my front shirt pocket and over their heads to never be seen again] Since then i have never gotten anyone else to ride with me that motherfucker.

Loved this video - you showcased this so great! We really miss the old 90's themed hotels and casinos and the buffets in Vegas. I wouldn't mind giving Buffalo Bill's a try for a couple of nights in the near future. We are getting tired of the Strip - prices in both rooms/resort fees/parking/food have skyrocketed so much and Fremont St. has gone downhill so much over the years, we have no desire to visit anymore. We are now looking at the hotels/casinos where the locals visit, just to get away from the Strip.

i used to go here all the time, with my family, in the early 2000's / late 90's. i never got to see the place entirely operational, as the train ride that used to weave through the casino was running at one point (i think on one of my very first visits it may have still been running but it shut down soon after), but besides that i got to see every other attraction open. i rode the log ride and the motion simulator a couple hundred times. Finally my buddy helped me work up enough courage to go on the Desperado, that ride was really fun, but you could tell it wasn't Six Flags level, it had this really intense vibration to it, it was rough for sure! Still rode the Desperado 20x though hahaha. This place used to be poppin man, there were TONS of people all hours of the night, tons of resteraunts, you might even go to Whiskey Pete's for a couple minutes to see Bonnie and Clyde's Car lmao xD.

Absolutely! Vegas is definitely not a family destination anymore. But Primm Valley could be the exception if they make a comeback.

I worked @ Buffalo Bills for a construction company renovating the rooms in the late summer of 2000. The one thing I do remember was that we got a unlimited pass to the rides at that time. I just remember riding Desperado over and over again till I was pretty much sick. I was 18, good times.

Great tour, we used to take are kids there when everything was running, including the brief time the train ran. I rode the all the rides, and they were fun. I was a low-cost way to visit Vegas, we would home base out of Buffalo Bill's, it was around $18 a night for us back then. We would then drive into Vegas to visit.

My bf and I hit Vegas at least 3x a year (we live in Cali). We miss State Line/Primm and would stop there for the log ride and Dennys, plus a little gambling before driving 45 min out to the strip. We are happy to hear its making a come back! Thank you for posting this video 🎊🎉🎰

In the 90s we stayed one night for $25 per night. It was a perfect place when going to Vegas arriving at 1am, stayed one night with free breakfast. We checked out at 11am and on to Vegas. I liked theme of the place.

I am so glad they have reopened. I was sad to see videos showing the casino closed down. I remember stopping off there to eat gamble and hang out before heading into Vegas. This was our stop as well as headed back home. Rode the rides several times. The roller coaster was bumpy but well worth the thrill. I love the decor of the hotel. We will be planning to drive out to see them soon.

This is awesome! When I was in junior high (not middle school!) in the early 90’s my best friend’s mom was addicted to the one armed bandit. So she’d take us to state line several times a year and gamble her paycheck away! But for my buddy and I it meant going on the log flume and desperado, freedom as pre-teens, arcades and no curfew! I try to stop in Primm every time I drive to Vegas. It’s a diamond in the rough and I hope with the reopening that more people will give it a chance.

I was so sad when we stopped here on our way out of Vegas only a few months ago. I had my two daughters with me --- now in their 50s and we were heart broken to see Buffalo Bills closed down... and Stateline in such poor condition. We had ridden the roller coaster that was the best ride ever--/ back in the day... and we were there to see Reba Macintire who was fabulous as she could be nothing less than that! Just a couple months ago my girls and I took a trip to Vegas and on our way back to Los Angeles to the youngest daughters home--- we stopped at Stateline and we were all heartbroken. It is literally a ghostown.... I would love to see Buffalos Bills back to its fabulous self again. That was the BEST hands down! What a loss for Primm....... 😭

Yeah they still have some work to do but I was excited to hear their enthusiasm and the place looks brighter. Maybe I have too much nostalgia for the place, but I’m glad it’s back open. Easily the best of the three properties out there.

@@Milestomemories I feel ya.. I have that nostalgia for Primm too. It takes me back to a simpler time without social media when people actually spent time together and went to the mall, concerts , buffets, etc . Very special place.

I was there many years ago when all of the properties were open. I remember and have pictures of the Bonnie and Clyde car when it was at the other casino. Rode on Desperado when it first opened. That was when VR just started out and they had a few of the virtual reality machines too. It was so busy so many people stopped by on the way to and from California I remember the casino was packed. Those were some great times. I even have a $1 token from there. ( have one from the Texas Station casino to.... RIP Texas Station)

Nice to see that overall tourism is improving to the point that places like Buffalo Bill’s can reopen. I only went there once way back in 1995. I didn’t visit Whiskey Pete’s in 2016 on my way through. Not sure if I’d ever stop overnight there but it was a fun way to spend a couple hours. Out of curiosity, any plans to do a similar piece about Mesquite, NV? It’s to the Nevada Arizona border, and not terribly far from Utah, what Primm is to NV/CA. It’s a good place to get a taste of what’s to come in Vegas or a nice reminder as you head back up I-15.

Lots of great memories at Buffalo Bills. We would stay 1-2 night’s either going or coming back from Lake Havasu (we had a boat) with our pre teen/teenagers. They also loved staying there with everything offered for them to do, Now my kids are 40-43 😬.

I won $7000 at Buffalo Bills!!! I used to take my family there and spend weekend trips with my kids in the early 2000s, coming from SoCal. Glad to see it re-opened and hope it does become successful once more. I dislike going to Vegas it's just too dangerous and more for adults. Thanks for the video💯👍

I was driving from Cali to Vegas in 2015 and as a amusement operator and fanatic I had to stop and check it out. I was so disappointed that nothing was operating and thought I would have loved to see it in its hay day with everything operating. I’d love to see it taken back to its former glory with everything up and running again. I’d definitely consider visiting again if that was the case

I used to drive often from LA to Las Vegas, mostly during the '90's, and always stopped at Buffalo Bills. The roller coaster was insanely fast and I made a point of waiting for the first car for the terror of it all. I still visit Las Vegas often, but the traffic on the I-15 is so bad that I only fly there.

Great video, thank you! I would drive from San Diego to Las Vegas and if I was tired, I would ride the coaster to wake me up! What a thrill when you were going up and looking down on the hotel, and then the drop that would make your heart stop! Going into the cave made you think you were going to lose your head!

The pool at Whiskey Pete's is surprisingly nice. In fact all 3 properties have decent pools and courtyards that make you forget you are in the middle of the desert.
