Giles was the Don-Dadde-O-G in most instances - not just with Buffy, but with the entire Scooby-Gang. He couldn't fight for crap (usually) but damn that guy knew how to wage war. The few times he actually laid into Buffy, Xander Willow or Cordillia he really nailed them to the post. An excellent watcher and more-over a true Guardian not just for the Slayer, but her supporting group as well, which he realised were just as important to the success of the mission. With so many crap TV shows being re-made, how is a gem like this being ignored? I'd buy a subscription JUST to see a 1 hour Buffy 2021 episode.... And if they just called it "The Slayer" they could change actresses almost every week... Dr Who style (which I hate, but you get the point)... Actually an interesting twist would be the Watcher training program - those guys have to know everything about the occult, the supernatural.... BUT have not skills / abilities... that must be a very hard system to pass! There's a series just in that... the IP of Buffy is totally wasted... Oooooh, mabye Xander as a new Watcher? No skills or abilities, just loads of experience?!?! (WIllow or someone would have to put his eye back, but in a fantasy show that shouldn't be too hard - hell they could even make a joke of it) OK, now I REALLY want a new show.....

@@damightyshabba439 No! I hear you and I appreciate you loving Buffy so much. But the original cast of Buffy is what makes it so great. Buffy is still so relevant today despite when it was filmed. The fact that it's from the 90s only adds to the magnificence of it. Nobody can play Giles but Anthony Head. No one is Buffy but Sarah Michelle Gellar. And of course NO ONE, NO ONE and I mean NO *FUCKING* ONE can play Spike like James Marster. To do so would be such an insult. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a show of utter perfection. Let's not ruin it. The same goes for the Princess Bride movie - PERFECTION. A producer wanted to remake that film and thousands of fans threatened to kick their door down if they did. As they should. I think we could have a short film detailing the Watcher's council: How it works but also the corruption behind it. Slayers never make it past the age of 20 for reasons that the Watcher 's council illustrate throughout the show. They need the girls young, vulnerable and impressionable so they can manipulate them enough to hold all the power...even though the slayer is the one with the power. Which is the point. The older a Slayer gets and the more experience she gains, the more wisdom...you better believe that soon she is going to find out who *REALLY* holds the cards which is *HER*. It was *ALWAYS* her. I think we should also do a mini-series on the original slayer as the most significant woman apart from Buffy would have to be the First Slayer. A group of men choosing just the one woman because they can't have too many women being powerful despite the logistical problems it can prevent makes complete sense actually. Misogny is as illogical as it is disgusting. They needed to tie someone down to the earth and violate them in the worst and most gruesome way possible. Of course it had to be a woman. And it turned her into a primitive beast that they can control and manipulate into always being alone and just a machine with no autonomy, no right to love and no one to really give her a true reason to live for. *Of course* this group of men picked a young girl to do so. Now *THAT* is a show that would give you justice on the Buffyuniverse. Leave Buffy to be the gorgeous show it is but make a show like the ones stated that enrich Buffy the Vampire Slayer even more.

@@juliall255 I get your point (s). but, y'know - look at Walking Dead... Multiple story lines in the same universe. Even the Harry Potter stuff has spin off's. And they all have vulnerable kids learning the hard lessons of life... I tend to watch mostly the darker, supernatural stuff - y'know "on her 16th birthday, she found out she was a Witch and was summoned to The Academy" type story lines. I just think within the Buffyverse there is room for spin offs, extensions whatever. However, we are essentially Buffy is a brilliant show, brilliantly delivered. I'm just getting to the final two episodes of A Discovery of Witches. It's good, and I've enjoyed it - but it's no Buffy. And my favourite line in Buffy? Spike to Angel - "Oh my God, they're not STILL falling for all that Anne Rice crap, are they?" hehehe. Classic.

Both shows never did clarify how Angel came back from hell. The First Evil took credit, and so did Jasmine. Maybe The Powers did I dont know. If they would have made an Angel season 6, that should have been the main focus. Would have been revealed that Wolfram & Hart struck a deal with Acathla for them to use Angel for THE apocalypse, but Angel and his team screwed up their plans when they killed all the members of The Circle of the Black Thorn. So now Acathla feels as though he got screwed thanks to the Powers That Be, and wants Angel back in hell

not really but proof she can not be trusted, she let angleus kill many people, that alone she should have been put to death. then willow who never did a major spell, the chance it was going to work is very small, then when angle came back crazy even excape she still did not tell any one, putting them in danger, xander never had any power BUT if he did he would have EVERY right to kill angleus, and not gave a dam what buffy thought about it. When I was younger I was mad at Xander too. But looking back you realize that the moment when Angelus says 'no friends, no watcher, who do you have left' and she says 'me' is very powerful only because she thought it was dp or die. If Buffy knew he was being cured she wouldn't have fought as hard to save angel and she might have been killed. Plus it made no difference if she knew or not he already opened Acathala - it was too late.

Mr PitchBlack, yes, the term is a plot device. Deus Ex Machina. And bringing Angel back was never fully explained either. Both shows concentrated more on plot than on details ... & lore. Shush! When he became a vampire his soul left, according to the lore. @ThisCharmingMan1984

@@danielmartinezmayoral6959 I agree with you, but I’d say it’s more accurately: the man leaves, and the demon takes back full control of him once again; when Angel gets his soul back the demon doesn’t completely leave, like his soul did; it still remains, but it is now tempered/controlled by his soul, which sort of keeps the demon in check, by once again allowing him to feel genuine remorse for the horrible things he has done- something a demon would never feel. I think, in the BuffyVerse/AngelVerse, when someone is sired by a vampire, their soul is basically replaced by a demonic entity, who completely takes over their body, mind personality, etc; they have all the memories of their new host body, but with all/any of their previous goodness driven out by demon. At least that’s my take on it- others are surely available haha I just hope some of my insane ramblings made sense haha. All the best. 😀👍
