Ironically, getting hives in the early/midgame is actually quite easy to handle (since low wealth brings low numbers), as Pete has just shown us. I had a tribal colony that had no use for cooks anymore, they simply collected jelly at night and controlled the number of bugs during the day. Neat stuff, really.

Agreed. While I may be privately jonesing for new episodes, I understand that I am not entitled to new episodes and will gladly await Pete's work.
Dear Pete, did you ever consider adding the mod "Interaction Bubbles" to your playthroughs? This mod adds SOO much more immersion to the game by printing the log content into speech bubbles. As an example, you and us viewers would immediately get to know when one pawn flirts with another by comparing him/her to a rotten tomato. Or how a colonist tries to tame a wild warg by whistling words to himself, enraging the animal into a manhunting mode. All of these are fun moments which are already present in the game (log) but missed out by you and us. I'd be really happy to see you using this mod! If you think like me, please consider upvoting the comment, so Pete sees it.

Hey Pete, I've been playing Rimworld since Beta and loving the stories this game can provide. But I have to admit I never got very far in the game. But since I discovered your content with the Steakhouse serie I've been finding myself more engaged in my campaigns. I recently started a colony largely inspired by the Cult of Jingz, Tribal on a Boreal Forest with Gauralean tree and so far I've had an absolute blast trying to make the best out of what Randy could throw at me. My colony is currently at 9 pawns, with a small but ever increasing army of dryads, black bears and Anima wargs ( from the mod anima animals) and I don't think I've ever been this far in any campaign prior to watching your series. So I guess thank you for your amazing work, sadly I can't support you over than with sharing your content and letting friends know about your work but just know that you've made a random french dude enjoy the game even more. Cheers !

What an awesome episode! I love the bug farm concept. One thing to keep in mind is that raiders will target the bugs in addition to going after you, so they could be a handy distraction in the future. You could send out the sharpshooters while the insects engage the raiders in melee combat for example.

A thing I'd love to see is the creation of a maze of trees! You can re-plant all the trees in the area to create mazes, cover, or whatever other defensive constructions you might normally want to make it even harder for invaders to safely approach. Area of open ground, riddled with traps or movement-slowing terrain, split by walls of cover that our colonists can use against encroachment.

I didn't realize Chutney had a tribal childhood background also! That definitely makes him worth stealing from the Empire. Tribal childhoods are rare and very valuable if you're relying on the anima tree for psionics. I love the music too. Actually I just love the fact that fan art is such a thing for your Rimworld series. I can't make any but thanks to all the viewers who can!

A lore friendly method of increasing ridinis medical: Each member must prove their dedication to the tibe via individual melee combat with a natural enemy. Or a group assault on a large enemy. Ridini will have plenty of patients to practice on, especially if their armor is limited.

Human leather drums and decorations time! Better than armor, gives all the edge without the debuffs for it. Unless you want it for Specs specifically, I guess. Fitting that the episode is half about treating medical troubles after you overcoming some as well. Everyone's better now! The Dr. Thunder piece is the best. Also glorious idea with the fan music, well done on the author's part! Hoping to hear it for episode outros or the like from now on! Hold off on the Edmo quests for now, until your colony is better prepared, for sure.

I mean your already feeding the corpses to the bears.....and you are going after edmos horn.....i could easily see this as the start on a path towards edmoism and eating the flesh of your foes to gain their strength.

This is quite a bit late, but lowering the condition on weapons and psychic lances will reduce wealth. Buildings though, like statues, not any more. I suspect that lowering the condition on a barrel for mortars will also lower wealth, but when building the mortar, will yeld a 100% barrel.

@RyoneFuushiba

As much as I like the idea of having a bugnest for constant kibble, I think having it too close to the colony is going to be more of a pain than a help, mainly because of raids and how you're building your base. It does sort of defeat the purpose of having a wall around the base to protect when you have a constant threat inside that very same wall you built to protect yourself. To finalize this thought strain, having a raid on the outside only to have a bug nest spawn inside the base puts you with your back against the wall. It only takes one unfortunate timing for everything to come crumbling down. Because of this, I think I'm going to have to find more favor of removing the nests or an alternative would be to build yet another wall around the bugs so that they don't immediately look at the colony and go "hey, food" while at the same time preparing for the "in case of emergency, purge all with fire" in the event they get a little too feisty.
