I barely to either. But this is the first time that happened to me, it happened again a different week but that was years ago so it might be patched now

@@agentd1219it was patch on 1.20.60 I saw it on the changelog and they also fix other death bugs Due to there adding hardcore mode (found on preview) and due to this it's almost impossible to encounter any death bugs

might be server-client desync. Sometimes the internal server lags, which can cause discrepancies between the player position between the server and client. Basically, I think the server lagged, so it didnt update the player position, and when it stopped lagging, the server thought you were inside the blocks you placed client side during that time, and since you were moving client side when the lag stopped, so it shifted your server position a block over. Due to the ruined portal in the corner of the screen, this is 1.16 or after, and in that update, fall damage was changed to be determined server side. So basically since your server position was now in the air, you fell server side while client side you were still on the pillar of blocks. This could explain why the block placing sound stopped before the damage occurred since block placing/breaking sounds may be server side as well but im not entirely sure of that. Whenever the two clients desync, they usually snap to the client position soon after, but here it didnt happen fast enough, which led to the server thinking you fell to the ground. Hope that made sense.

Pretty much what I was thinking. No progammer, but I've seen a few of these vids and yeah it looks like de-sync. Reminds me of old multiplayer on Java the weird bugs with desyncing.

shouldn't happen when the server is literally on the same device as the client

Idk if this video is specifically singleplayer or not, but I've seen it happen on singleplayer before. In that case, why TF is a singleplayer world holding data on a server AT ALL? That really explains all the glitches from Bedrock, considering they all looked like something from an always-online game.

@@Technonova323 This is something both Java and Bedrock do. The main difference is how the server and client communicate to keep things running smoothly. On bedrock, damage calculation is done by the server, so if there is desync where the player falls on the server but not on the client, the player randomly takes damage. Usually the positions on the server will snap to match the client before anything bad happens, but on lower end devices lag can prevent that from happening in time. This is different from java where I believe calculations are done on the client? I might need to fact check that though. Now I don't know the exact reason Mojang made Minecraft this way, and I could be wrong here, but it would makes sense for updates, as since technically singleplayer and multiplayer use the same server-client system, bug fixes would apply across both instead of, in a sense, having to fix the same bug twice.

Ive played for 1750 days on my phone and up to nearly 2050 days on my PC (additional 300) and i have never encountered any random death bugs or damage. There was once where i placed my bed too contained within walls and a 1 block gap above my bed, and i beat the ender dragon and spawned at that bed and suffocated in the walls but that was just my bad cause i had nowhere to spawn without dying. Im assuming the random death bugs are from “low” end and “poorly optimized” devices like phones and consoles. My PC runs bedrock very smoothly and has amazing render distance
