How many DIY projects can the Deity budget afford? Whatever that amount is is the number you should make. And Andrew needs to be the person to do them all.

I’ve just broken and ordered acrylic glue to fix it. But this morning it will be so stupid to trust glue for my $3000 gear. Ur video confirm the same not to trust glue. Thanks for sharing ur full DIY experience. It’s a good lesson learned apart from building amazing charging station.

I’m currently planning on doing this too. However I believe you missed a step. You need to add a exhaust fan to let the air flow if the case was closed and need to charge on the go. Nice work tho 👍🏼

Great job. I love seeing that other people are as cursed as me. Don’t leave the case in the sun too long, Velcro adhesive can get sad. But love the concept. As soon as I saw the connect set on the back lid for charging, I was sold. I think I’ll try this out

Looks ultra-convenient for thieves to walk away with a complete kit. Maybe add a battery-powered GPS tracker hidden under the wood paneling that self-charges when the unit is plugged in. You could probably even just use an old cell phone for that if you could find the right app.

Might wanna trade out the top lid Velcro for some straps like you’d get in the front pouch of an Orca bag, then you can strap in the TX’s and travel with them connected so they don’t fall if you need to rush and move the case. Also putting a USB Hub in the Lid might make for more units to allow for future charge options.

I really liked this kind of "Rube Goldberg" style of doing things!! 😀 Andrew, you should've thought of the Velcro idea at the start, that's what I did when you hit that bump. Velcro is my panacea for most things, easy to set up; equally easy to take apart.....if one wants to make modifications. Nevertheless, I liked this video. I might even use it if I think of making this contraption.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again. Great project. A few comments. Don't put the connector on the bottom side. That way you can put the case on edge and still leave it plugged in. Did you consider a powercon connector or would that have required soldering? I would have mounted the power strip on the wooden supports. That way the plugs are horizontal. I have not had great luck with self adhesive Velcro over the long term. The adhesive tends to relax and let go over time. Do prep the surfaces with alcohol before laying down the Velcro. For my case I am going to use a RIDGID short tool case taking out the top plastic liner. That way it stacks with my other RIDGID roll-about tool cases I use for my other gear. A stack-able system that costs about $25 for the case or $130 for a 3 case stack with wheels and handles that locks it together as a single unit. These cases seem to only be available at Home Depot.

Andrew did your LED lights peel themselves off? Mine did! 😂 I guess the adhesive on the light strip doesn’t agree with the inside plastic surface of the lid. Any suggestions on a glue to put on the light strip that will stick? We both know super glue doesn’t work……… 😂

You might notice that the first attempt can be called a prototype, and the second was better. By the time he would build it a third or 4th time, it would be fairly refined. If you just plan for things to go this way instead of stressing about it, then you will succeed.

Global thoughts... You'll never ever have perfect measurements as long as you'll stick to "imperial" system. Those thirds, quarters, eights, ounces, stones, inches, feet, etc. are doing nothing for accuracy of distances and dimensions. Metric goes from 10 fold to 10 fold, always and only... how simpler can things be ? But maybe some folks like complicated situations !? 🤔
