Hello Peter, how would I go about contacting you regarding the possibility of you assembling this kit for me?

what a nice kit. seemed to go together without to many problems, all but the missing parts. Just so cool that the doors work.
@mpeterll

It was only one part that was missing. II wasn't too bothered because it would probably have taken me longer to contact the manufacturer and request a replacement than it did to fabricate one myself.

You are without doubt a master model maker and any of your creations would take pride of place on any of our layouts but I don’t think I could have resisted undertaking the construction of such a structure myself and enjoying some kinda sense of achievement.

I like the motorized doors, I have a traditional Steam Loco roundhouse to build, going to have to noodle out motorizing those doors, that really looks cool. Nice job on the build, Lots of good info!

Hi, you made a great video of our kit. I'm the owner and designer of all items at Proses so I wanted to know which part was missing in the box. That would be very helpful if you let me know. Best regards, Harun

I'm always willing to provide feedback to manufacturers that helps them to improve their products - so I hope this is helpful to you... It was the shelf that the door mechanism sits on. I just made a couple of pieces that fitted into the slits in the side walls. That was a simple process so not worth worrying about. More difficult was attaching the mechanism. The customer wanted to keep the roof removable, so it would have been preferable to screw it down from above for easy removal if it's ever necessary. Unfortunately I couldn't get a screwdriver in from above , so I had to attach it from below. That's not ideal as now the whole structure has to remain removable from its base. The other part that I thought could (should) be improved is the small side doors. Rather than cutting them from wall stock, how about a laminate of two pieces of the window-frame material? Also, I have to wonder why the windows and concrete trim is cut from different pieces. All the windows and skylights could easily have been provided inside the concrete trim pieces, which would save on materials and probably allow a few bucks to be shaved off the price of the kit while still keeping the same profit margin. Please feel free to contact me again (through my web-site is probably best, since I don't always get new-comment notifications) if you have any further queries.

Hello Peter. I thought that was the Proses kit. It’s the only one I have ever seen with automatic doors. Beautifully engineered kit. Pity about the missing piece. I like your light weathering. It’s always a pleasure watching you build. Thanks for sharing. See ya next time.

I'm reading the other comments not only on this awesome building kit but those rolling doors. I'm rebuilding prior to this video for years an engine shop. After seeing this where can I get this mechanism device for the doors? And for that matter the kit you assembled as well as the brand name? 🤔🙂

Maybe I'm just easily impressed, but the motorized roll-up doors on this engine house are pretty cool. Makes me wish my little switching pike had room for an engine house...

That could be a while yet. I'm far too busy to make any time for my own projects - mainly because of the custom layout designs that just keep coming in. Also, there are big problems with the house in general and the basement in particular.

Well. mine is still sitting in the box unassembled because I have no idea what glue to use. When I was a kid Testors model glue was all we needed to assemble our various model cars. Once dried it was like the parts were welded together. Now a adays I can't believe how even Crazy Glue doesn't get the job done. Any suggestions ? Proven, time tested make etc ? It would be very much appreciated !!

I really missed your latest edition yesterday (monday), however, as usual it was worth the wait. A little constructive criticism: the camera angle while you do the assembling - I think an extra camera filming top down would be really neat.

I enjoy watching you do the building. Do show the inbetween like the weathering, it good to see someone else’s technique. Do you ever watch modeler man mike, he uses to do Walters kits. Check him out for editing ideas. More importantly when are you going to build your own layout up again in that huge basement. Really looking forward to that Peter.
@mpeterll

Yes I've watched as few of his videos, although nothing recently. That huge basement and the house above both have some serious problems. I will most likely have to tear out everything back to the bare studs and blocks before I can do anything in it. The sellers supposedly did a $100,000 remodel before putting it up for sale, but all they did was cover over garbage. It's a pity, because most of the finish work is superb, but it's all going to have to be ripped out to replace the plumbing and electrics. Unfortunately, I was 1000 miles away when I bought it so had to rely on the inspector's report - but the home inspector missed so much. I could have done a far better job myself.

I can't imagine any model manufacturer making a major kit w/o some instructions. Perhaps we're meant to download them from their site? But it's not worth buying if it isn't complete with instructions. Nonetheless, you make it look easy and it came out nice.

The packaging for the power supply, if not the power supply itself, should have a diagram indicating which wire would be positive and negative.
@mpeterll
4 жыл бұрын
That was my first thought too - that the manufacturer shouldn't just assume that the purchaser knows what the convention is. Then I realized something... The power supply came with a molded plug already in place, so until I cut that plug off, there was no way to get it backwards.

It comes with the territory. Seldom do I have a video that makes it through the first day without a dislike. Maybe some people are frustrated about always being too late to be the "first to like" or the "first to comment", so they choose to be the "first to dislike" instead, weather or not they really did dislike the video.
