Notes:
The buggy feels and smells totally vintage and upscale. I can imagine the tech being totally "avant-garde" in 1988, or 1990 for the Black Special edition.
There is a lot to like for this buggy. The race car inspired body is so cool to look at, and it comes with a cockpit (with canopy) that resembles a jet fighter. The whole buggy is very streamlined and minimalistic. You can imagine it being lean and mean in the RC race tracks back in the 90s.
The model consists of lots of metals and carbon fiber pieces and very little plastic parts. Even the rod-ends are metal! The problem of course is rusting, which starts to form after being dipped into water at the beach driving. The rod-ends becomes squeaky and could be stuck. Using WD-40 specifically at the rod-ends took care of the problem.
Due to the many metal parts, it makes a unique noise when driving.
The whole build and drive went like a dream. I could keep going on and on. But alas, so much fun, but so little time. Enjoy while you can!
