I have a friend that bought the first 25 stages or so of the Eaglemoss collection from somebody else and Agora is going to let him pick up from where he left off to complete it which is amazing! I'm so happy for him!

Just to add to your technical vocabulary Wayne, for chromed plastic pieces if you say “Vacuum Metalized” it’ll gain you Kudos points with the boys over the pond. It’s raining today, but as usual your daily video (me car man) is a lovely, cosy mornings watch. Love ya Wayne!!!

Looks good Wayne but I am waiting for the 007 series. I already have the old Eaglemoss DB5. Always gets me that you have the bonnet in the first pack that never seems to be fitted until the final stage, in my case 2 years later, along with so many tiny parts.

for the screws, rather than a lubricant, I'd be tempted to use say Permatex orange - holds like red, moves like blue - to give some lubrication during assembly and then slightly harden, to prevent loosening under thermal changes or handling.

Beautiful car, a true must have, when it comes to oil I'm just using good old WD - 40 👍
@Thalon77
Жыл бұрын
WD40 is quite aggressive and could corrode some type of plastics, I would suggest hair clipper oil instead: it's light, it doesn't smell, it doesn't stain and it doesn't corrode anything.

That fuel pump as u said, i think thats an early mechanical fuel injector, i watched a repeat of Wheeler Dealers which they had a BMW 2002tii and that had a similar fuel pump, and i believe was called a kugelfisher(?) which use a camshaft to dispense fuel into the cylinders.

Absolutely love this car. Such an iconic beauty. You know I’ll be following your build. So the $10,000 question. Is this the Eaglemoss kit re released or is it a completely new kit? The reason I ask is, the ad for the kit on the Agora site says that if you didn’t get all the parts from Eaglemoss that the Agora parts will fit so you can complete your kit. Cheers, have a great day

In the photo the headlights look blue in colour. So they must be using a wrong colour temperature LED, the real lights would be almost a yellow colour.

@RWHobbies - I have both the 427 SC and just got the W196R. The engine alone in the W196R is infinitely more detailed than the Cobra's 427. Both are great models, but the W196R wins the high detail award hands down!

Personally, I would prefer these builds not to start off with any body parts. Hood, doors etc. Keeping them pristine until needed is a pain. I love the fact that the working henge for the Steering Wheel is preinstalled. Those tiny hinges can be tricky, especially if they are push-twist in, like the Cobra. Mine broke and I had to Jury-rigg a fix.
