I love your work man! I can't wait to see a video of you building a Headway bank!

The switch is absolutely necessary. Balancing in the middle of the curve is not actually balancing energy it’s playing the voltage game. Just like LFP, balancing should only be done above the knee of the curve for top balanced packs

@@MiloittybittyboomI'm hear this is the only way to go these days when it comes to using lithium. Are these cells really that good? Scib cells? Or can it be any lto cells ?

@@alanclark9000 I'm personally a HUGE fan of the 10ah 75c SCiB and 20ah 35c SCiB LTO cells...... the 2.9s are a decent cell in my opinion

Can I run a 5s setup of i charge at 13.8
@Miloittybittyboom

@riversidefarms5845 I suggest you do not do that... at 13.8 I suggest using code IBB at BMS-Batteries for additional savings on Lishen lifepo4...

Trimming the balance wire is also not the best practice. You’re fucking up the voltage reading by changing wire resistance.

Additionally crimping is superior to any other method. Soldering after crimping is bad practice. It adds no benefits and actually makes the joint less secure.

@@Miloittybittyboom you debunked Ohms Law? Fascinating....you might want to submit that to a peer reviewed journal since you'd probably be eligible for a Nobel Prize

the redundant testing with side by side banks built with the same cells and balance board... one with all equal length balance board wires and the other with trimmed wires both were cycled discharge 📉 and recharged several times... both stayed the exact same balanced... also tried crimp with and without solder,,.. with again the same exact results.... I'm a firm believer in actually personally testing and staying far away from myths...

@@Miloittybittyboom Let me look for the video on your channel. I'm assuming when you say "stayed the exact same balanced" you mean after several cycles the packs pulled the exacat same watt hours on the final discharge cycle? At the end of the day it doesn't invalidate Ohms law. Yes, the difference it makes on 18AWG or 20AWG wire is going to be small IF the packs are already well balanced to begin with but if they ever have to balance at higher currents the voltage reading is going to be off....and if you're running the balancers throughout the entirety of the curve you ARE NOT balancing them correctly. Balancing means energy not playing the voltage game

15:15 what lithium tech do you recommend to run on a stock alt 13.8v that can later be upgraded to a ho alt charging at 15.5v? I'm looking at xs power/yinlong 35ah cells. I'm considering just getting a ho alt charging at 15.5v to start and the chinese scib lto 10ah 75c cells. Help big dog whats your opinion? The 10ah 75c cells are supposed to be phenomenal better than the yinlong but anything is better than 2 agms and 13.8 😅 #pleasehelpbigdog 🙏

XS power is a scammer terrible company. They don’t get real Yin Long cells. The owner has lied out his ass about being the only US distributor…but according to Yin Long they have NO relationship with XS. If you take the shrink wrap off an XS cell it lacks the markings of real Yin Long.
