Initially I thought the coop was a little frivolous but fun for a farm. Then I see the different breeds in their own sections with all the feed and chicks in the central portion and it’s actually very practical, probably the most practical I’ve seen. A fantastic piece of work. You should sell the plans.
@HiddenSpringFarm

I find it super easy to do the chicken chores cause everything is right there. I’ve built 2 different gazebos in previous homes. A six sided and an 8 sided so that’s how I came up with the idea of separate coops for the different breeds. I also learned a lot building it, things that I can now do better if I was to do it again.

Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the USA, was also an architect. In particular, he seemed fascinated with the geometric and structural features of an octagon. This shape had been employed for centuries in the construction of domes, but Jefferson appreciated the functional aspects of the space it enclosed: his tearoom at Monticello was enclosed by three sides of an octagon and his retirement retreat, “Plantation House,” was laid out in the shape of an octagon. As ususal, all Jefferson's ideas and designs were carried out by others, so he didn't have to fuss around with the angles during construction. Kudos to you, Chad.

Brilliant design. I love how you allowed outside and inside living space. I am still trying to figure out the middle. I see teh brooder , but what is the purpose of the coopola? to let out hot air? I am thinking about what would be needed to put such a design on wheels , so that the outside could be grassy year round, but I see you have hatches to allow outside roaming. - again , great design!! o, and I wanted to know about the different breeds
