Hi Dar can you build an extention using thermal blocks with cavity?

Lads , Hire a mixer if you don't have one, saves a lot of time Also never ever ever build a single wall, should be a cavity wall otherwise you are pissing money up against the wall. I am a Civil Engineer and cant believe this method of construction still exists in the uk. Seen that the inside was studded but nothing stopping water ingress. Recipe for future problems, Hope you amend your construction details in future Best wishes

Hi thanks, Have a mixer but hate using it 😁 Space is an issue and this isn’t a dwelling so cavity isn’t necessary and will only add a lot more to the cost. The exterior walls were rendered with a silicone render which is waterproof and prevents water ingress.

What about the length of the wall and stability when using what looks like 100mm block. I would think losing heat is not the biggest problem !

Does the long side of the wall not require piers? Or is it strong enough as is?

Its called a damp proof course. It prevents moisture rising up the walls from the ground
