Andrew, you are a true artisan. The way that you stack the stones and they end up being art. They provide accent to the plain stone walls around your home. Even when you put stones around a culvert pipe to conceal the pipe!

Andrew, I have noticed from watching so many of your videos that you like to back right up to your last pile dumped and then raise dump all the way without moving. I want you to watch this video very carefully and learn why that is not a good idea some of the time like, dumping heavy boulders. With boulders your hinging tail gate from bottom so you need to give it plenty room to fall free and unobstructed by boulders. I've always had a kinesthetic relationship with trucks and heavy equipment. Every truck company or equipment place I drove for said I treated their equipment better than they did however it was because I never abused or knowingly hurt the equipment. Like nature I always respected how they felt. Maybe a little crazy but it worked for me even when I was 19 years old and it still works at 68 as my 1994 Lexus LS400 is still running and looking great. Your the best Andrew and the future for now, always be the student!

Noob question: Why do you keep the tailgate open while dropping the boulders? It seems to only wears the truck's structure and chain. Is it to protect the wheels of the truck?
@AndrewCamarata
7 жыл бұрын
Hugo Teixeira you couldn't open the tailgate from the bottom (as if dumping gravel), the boulders are too big to fit threw the opening. The other option would be to take the tailgate off, which is more work.
@jayphillips4058

I have a dump truck pretty close to yours, rigged a side-opener on the tail-gate. Basically allows for normal dumping and spreading, but will side-swing when dumping stumps, boulders, concrete tear-out etc. which won't fit under the gate frame in the normal configuration. This vid kinda shows how it works, can just have pins instead of a fancier latch system. Pretty easy to build/add, and saves the gate and back end from undue wear and tear. kzitem.info/news/bejne/uqWpzGqhbXaimaA

Doing it the way you are doing it is about the best really because it gets it out farther away from the back of the truck. Other wise ripping off mud flaps tearing up hitch and light plug etc. been there done that. I do have barn door on the tailgate as well but usually I try just lower the gate and raise it slowly. So all good man. Good video.
