She is a beauty. Love what you came up with. In 1988 I was 34 years old. Cheers from Nova Scotia....

*Very cool Build~I just came over here from watching Ed at 125 Rods talk about this build and that he wants to do one now so I had to watch it and loved every minute of it~You have that right that you have to kinda do the tires and color by just wingin' it some times~Yours turned out great keep up the great work my friend :))*

A fantastic tribute to an iconic build. You have done his build justice with your homage to it. I coincidentally was at Home Depot a few days back, prior to watching this video & I had picked up a can of the Behr spray paint in the Orion Gray color. I was glad to see that there was no adverse reaction to kit plastic. Again, a beautiful tribute & build. Thanks for sharing your build video & thoughts on this build.

That turned out great. It really catches the look of Tim's original build.

yep we can be friends. Sanding sealer on the birch would seal the pores. Build looks great! It would go real nice with my 29. Let's be childs again. 🎉🎉

This is my favorite video on your channel so far and that should come as no surprise. Having done my own Tim Boyd tribute to one of his other magazine models this really hits home and watched the whole thing with a big smile. Tim has given basically his whole life to the hobby and inspired thousands. I’m glad we could do a little something to honor him for him to see. I love how your tribute Woody turned out. While there are a few details done different it’s unmistakable! (Way more so than my 29 Pickup tribute.) Like Tim’s original, it’s an interesting combination of vintage drivetrain with the 80’s smoothie exterior but it works. 😎

Thank you for your kind words Dennis! It’s one of my favorite builds as well. I keep walking by the display case and pausing to look at it. I know in my head it’s not Tim’s build but it brings back so many memories!

Love it! I'm also most into really traditional rods and kustoms but this pastell colored thing brings back memories from the early ninties builds from Carshows here in Sweden. Very clean build. Big 👍up

Great job! I was a 19 year old subscriber when that issue came out. I have a hard time hand painting as well. I usually just mask with masking tape and airbrush if I need to paint details.

I also like others did that build when that issue came out! Mine was testor's competition orange with cream accents. I used the Monogram woody kit which needed that help on stance. I used the wire wheels with Jag XKE rear and front suspension. Power by a Grand National engine with cream(!) Turbo lol. It was the same amount of fun doing it as watching this video! Love what you're throwing down man! Agree on the enamel struggles lol. Think I'm gonna do it again but better lol. Thanks for this, loved it. Tim Boyd did the same idea in Modeller's Corner in Street Rodder magazine around the same time. Good times!

Wow, this is really cool. I'm about to build the same model! Only it's the Revell kit, so I've got to do some 'kitbashing' myself. Those wheels look fantastic.

This is just a tribute…you gotta believe me and I wish you were there. Lol. Good stuff. Honestly I think it’s better as a tribute or an homage than a direct clone. It’s close enough everyone knows what it’s supposed to be but with your own touches. Really nicely done. The colors turned out well and this was a really cool way to do a video. Also I feel you on building strictly with enamels as a kid. The dry time killed my modeling time too! We had no local hobby shop with any cool stuff. Just wal mart and Kmart with testors enamel. Lol.
