@@frenchriversprings the shop tour is like a wood workers dream. I have a compound 12” sliding miter saw from DeWalt that’s my first big money purchase. A few drills and sand paper. Will be building a router station . I have a question I do not have a planner or jointer, is there anything I can do to get my boards more straight without a table saw or jointer ? Thank you my friend
@frenchriversprings

Well a jointer is almost a must to get straight wood. To get a straight edge, you can do that with a table saw or router table or jointer or sliding table saw. The jointer or sliding table saw wins hands down for straight edges. You can also do it with a track saw like the Festool track saw. You can actually do a lot with track saw. But to get straight boards, the only way is a jointer or build a special sled for a planer. Oh you can also do it with a hand plane with 2 sticks of wood but who has the patience for that. If I were you, I would bring all my wood to your local woodworker to get jointed or anything else that you don’t have the equipment to do. Most woodworkers are happy to do it and will do it right away and they might actually teach you a few tricks. I used to do it all the time and I still get my local woodworker to do all the edgebanding for me. On occasion, I get a job where I’m not too sure how is the best way to build it. So I bring the plans with me to my local woodworker, and ask for his opinion. He has 35 years of experience. You wouldn’t believe all the tip and tricks he shows me. He is my competition but he is still happy to teach me. He is always booked solid anyways. And of course I pay him for his time. Can I ask how old you are?

At 1:18 of the video, that looks like a nice jig. Is that a “dado sled”? Did you just pin it down to the slider with T nuts in the slider groove? Clever!
@frenchriversprings

Y’a. I lock the slider. The white melamine is pinned down with T nuts. I made the T nuts myself with delrin plastic. The purpose of the white melamine is for my material to slide easier and at the same time it gives me zero clearance for the dado

Kind Sir I have a question. But before I ask it; I own the same "Hammer" Jointer/Planer you have. And I would like to see a more close up video of that dust collector; attached to the machine; NOT at the dust collector. Because I am seeing something on your machine that mine does not have concerning that dust hose. I assume you made it. Now the question. When you get well (my heart is with you dear friend) could you spend a minute video on your machine; focusing on the dust connector; when it is down AND up; so I can do what you are doing. If it's OK. Thank you kind Sir.
