I really enjoyed this video , i have a small shed like this that was a kids play shed but not used much now. I would just need to insulate inside and board the inside , change the door to a glass one , and get the burner/heater. I have a whiskey barrel already for a Cold dip.. Love it you’re giving me plenty of ideas.

As a finnish sauna user it is fun to watch people building their own versions of saunas. Once i experienced australian version of sauna and it was build using some strange eucalyptus? wood. Dont do that unless you fancy cat piss....

Is there anywhere I can learn about saunas, particularly about "do"s and "do not"s? For example, I never thought about giving some space underneath to allow it to breath, renew air and letting water condensation somewhere to go. Any recommendations for a sauna in a garden?

Beautifully done my brother, suggestion for aesthetics and efficiency, instead of doing the outside corner trim piece by piece assemble it at a 90 and cut it to length before installing and then install it as one piece no matter what it will be straight

Thank you! No idea how many hours. It took me little bit over half a year to finish because of financial problems. If I had all the materials at hand when I started, then I would of probably finished it in a month I believe.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! One thing I would do differently next time is to use clips instead of nails when attaching the wood to the wall inside the sauna. Clips work better because they give more flexibility to the wood when it swells. The floor works great; fresh air enters the sauna, and the water can flow away. Four grown men can comfortably fit on the sauna stage!

@@Schoko3100 I have no clue, maybe 20 - 25 years? Time will tell. It's all varnished so no problem! The water instantly seep's into the soil, and cap between the soil and the floor is like 30cm.

Yes it works! The sauna heats up to 80-90 degrees in Celsius in 40-50 minutes and it maintains the heat for hours. I live in northern Europe and we have very cold temperatures in the winter.

Yes exactly! Airflow but the main reason is that the water that falls on floor can safely go trough into the soil. PS! This dosent affect the sauna tempreature at all. My sauna gets heated up really fast in like 30 minutes to 80-90 degrees in celsius.

Thank you! Left it open. Works perfectly, air flows in the sauna and water flows straight in to the soil. Sauna heats up fast, even in the winter here in north-east Europe.

Nice build, what timber did you use? Looks great, though I think they look better with no paint. Also I would have invested $50 to get a cheap circular saw. All that cutting by hand would have been hard work 😋

Need õhuvahed tegin selleks, et maha kukkuv vesi läheks läbi pinnasele mitte ei jääks kuskile põranda vahele hallitama. Õhuvahede tõttu tuleb sauna ka värsket õhku. Olen sauna teinud nii 15m/s puhuva tuulega, kui ka -15 kraadise külmaga ning ei ole kordagi probleeme olnud sauna soojuse püsivuse või kütmisega. Alati läheb ilusti ja kiirelt soojaks. Edu ehitamisel!

@@matsy1000 That's just one way of doing it. It's also good because it makes the air flow in the sauna. Only thing I can say is that I live in Estonia, in Northern Europe and winters here are very cold and windy. I have been using this sauna when it's -15 in Celsius outside and the sauna temperature is +100 degrees in Celsius at the same time. So everything works!

There is no floor insulation. I have been in this sauna when it's -15 degrees in Celsius and the sauna temperature during that time was +100 degrees in Celsius. It works just fine in the winter.

Trust me, if you live in Estonia where the temperature can go as low as -20..-30 degrees in Celsius then you definitely need insulation because in the end you will spend more money on the fire wood and it will take 2-3 hours more to heat it up without the insulation. And to be honest, I'm not even sure if you can get the sauna hot without the insulation in winter here. But if you live in a tropical country I believe the insulation isn't needed but I would still use it because then I can keep the temperature hot much longer without throwing any fire wood in the heater.

Your drill/driver has a driver mode. If you turn down the clutch function you'll stop stripping every single screw. This is so painful to listen to. Otherwise great video.

Great job, really. Thank you for your experience. I am going to follow it closely. Just to mention: with the water added, it's not a Sauna any longer, but a Turkish Bath, or a "steam room". The whole point of Sauna is a "dry hot air".
