Boy, that’s the easiest pond build I’ve seen. You do a great demonstration on the build. Thank you so much for showing how easy it can be. And if your on a budget this looks like the best way to go as well. Good job.

Awesome Aviary!!! I jst finished my new pond. Dug it into the ground and basically did the same thing but used fiber reinforced concrete. Has a small island that the ducks love to perch on. I put a very short clip of it on my channel. I will do what you did when I build the larger aviary. mine is only 25x25.

Thank you for making this video! I have been searching and searching for how to build something just like this for my ducks and finally found a video showing me how. Question though...as far as where the water drains out, it looks like you just have it draining out under the ground inside the run. Doesnt this cause backflow and so a mud pit inside the run?

you have a very good system (having over 100 ducks I can tell!) With larger domestics, they would be clogging it with rocks they like to put in it...I had one with a drain... with larger domestics.... but with your ornamentals that looks like a great system

How are those mitered boards holding up? Seems like theyre going to stay wet. Where does the water drain to when its dirty and how long does the water last before you drain it?

That is all good but the biggest difficulty in making a duck pond is waste management. Without the right water treatment u r dealing with a sewage pit in a matter of days. The pumping and filtering of water is the key.

It was so satisfying when the ducklings jumped in even before the pond was full👏😁 But I felt like it was too shallow as the birds like to dive in.

Good concept. I want to do a similar pond. I think I will put my ball valve outside the run and drain it over the lawn. You did not explain how you kept the water clean. You did say you drain every 2 days. I don't want to do that. Thinking of adding a pump and filter so I only have to add water, not drain and refill. Good video you helped me figure out the drain. Thank you sir.

Would you recommend just draining for colder climates in winter or is there away we can make this heated? My concern would be the drain freezing.
@deathsdollar2606

I tried this and it lasts about a day before the ducks shred it! Unless you use a pond liner that costs hundreds of dollars and even then it will most likely get a tear from the ducks.

Is that the pond liner that is blue in the beginning of the video or did you dye the water?
